  • Publication number: 20060188287
Abstract: A reduced footprint image producing machine including (a) an image output terminal (IOT) having (i) a moveable imaging member including an imaging surface; (ii) latent imaging devices for forming a latent electrostatic toner image on the imaging surface; (iii) a development unit for developing the latent electrostatic image on the imaging surface into a toner image; (iv) a transfer station for transferring the toner image from the imaging surface onto a toner image carrying sheet; (v) a fusing apparatus for heating and fusing the transferred image onto the toner image carrying sheet; and (b) a footprint-reducing tower mounted on top of the IOT and containing (i) machine electronics and controller assembly, and (ii) machine environment conditioning devices including cleaning and exhaust fans along with portions of associated manifolds, thereby preventing the addition of protrusions to a rear of the IOT, and thus reducing the installed foot print of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20060104687
Abstract: A copier includes an input scanner for recording images from an input sheet moving in an input process direction, yielding image data, and a print engine for printing an image based on the image data on an output sheet moving in an output process direction. The input sheet is fed through the input scanner with an image for a tab near a lead edge thereof. An output sheet having a tab relative to the print engine is fed so the tab is on a trail edge thereof. An image formed by the output sheet is displaced toward the trail edge of the output sheet by a predetermined length.

  • Publication number: 20050163528
Abstract: A reduced footprint image producing machine has functional components including image forming apparatus, controllers and machine environment conditioning devices; a first frame containing some of said functional components and having a height suitable for an operator work surface located at a top of said first frame; and a second frame mounted onto a top of said first frame defining a footprint-reducing tower, said footprint-reducing tower, thereby preventing the addition of protrusions to a rear of said machine, and thus reducing the installed foot print of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20050030296
Abstract: An overlay for use with a display screen, comprising at least one first tactilely readable area, wherein the display screen includes a first feature thereon, wherein the tactilely readable area includes information in a tactilely readable format, and wherein the information identifies a first feature displayed on the screen

  • Patent number: 4271092
Abstract: A battery-powered apparatus, for inducing air flow past a product capable of being vaporized, includes a compact housing that comprises a hollow outer shell and a hollow, generally cylindrical inner shell, having an axis, on which the operating components of the apparatus are supported. The inner shell is mounted with the outer shell by a hinge to pivot substantially on the axis between closed and open positions. In the closed position the inner shell compliments the outer shell to define an enclosed space and shield the apparatus components. In the open position, the inner shell is nested within the outer shell to expose the apparatus components. The product and a battery for powering the apparatus may be assembled into a cartridge formed to be received in the apparatus housing. Electrical battery contacts and a support for the cartridge in the housing are also disclosed.
