The fees charged are based on the number of pages of the document, file, or other data stored. The fees are charged at the commencement of the services, rather than each day. The fees are also based on the location form which the services are accessed based on selected criteria of such location. Renewal of the storage duration includes fees are those fees charged when the document, file, or other data was first stored.

The cost associated with the requested document processing operation is then calculated and displayed to the user, along with available payment options. Once the user has selected the desired payment method, the document, with selected options and preferences, is transmitted to the selected service location for output on a document processing device thereon. The received request is stored in queue until such time as the user releases the request for further processing.

Abstract: A method for providing a subscription service wherein a remote host enables the automatic receipt at a customer site of the most recent updates, patches, or fixes for services the customer site is running. The remote host uses a secured private port to transfer the updates to the subscribed systems. A remote host server searches an update database for updates of the services from a list configured by an administrator. The host server then downloads the updates and notifies the administrator that an update is available. An update script is subsequently generated, allowing the update to be pushed to a subscribing system. The host server the searches a listing of subscribing systems to determine which subscribing systems run a service for which an update is available. The host server, through a private port, uploads the content to the subscribing system automatically. The communication port is a secured port that will require authentication of the host server by the subscribing system prior to uploading.

Abstract: A system and method to track and display the status of an electronic document submitted through a web-portal to a multifunctional peripheral device. The multifunctional peripheral device receives an electronic document file upon which it is to perform a service and logs the receipt in a central status database. During the processing of the electronic document file, the multifunctional peripheral device continually updates the status information corresponding to that file in the central status database. Through a web-portal, a user selects from a list of recently submitted document files one file for which status information is desired. The multifunctional peripheral device then accesses the central status database, retrieves the file, and displays, via the web-portal, detailed document and status information corresponding to the selected document file.

Abstract: The subject application is directed to a message driven job processing system and method. Electronic documents are first stored in an associated memory. At least one document processing operation, corresponding to the stored electronic documents, is then associated with each of a plurality of job processing components. A job processing message is then sent to each job processing component. Each job processing component then commences at least one document processing operation on an electronic document upon the receipt of the job processing message. Job status data is then received from each job processing component corresponding to the status of the processing operation being performed by the job processing component.

At least one parent queue data store is created for storing a plurality of parent queue records. At least one child queue data store is also created for storing a plurality of child queue records wherein each child queue record comprises a parent queue record identifier data store. For each job request received, a job request record is created and a record related to the newly created job request record is created in at least one of the parent queues or child queues.

The service location provider then provides access to the multifunction peripheral device and related services to mobile users. The user is then charged for the services used. The fees are paid to the multifunctional peripheral device provider. At least a portion of these fees are paid to any dealers involved in the sale or lease of the multifunctional peripheral device and to the service location providers.

Abstract: A method and implementation for job managing is disclosed which enables the creating of a job in a client system and sending a job creation instruction message to a job manager to notify that a new job has entered a processing queue. At least one processing message is sent from the job manager to at least one respective component. A first job state change message is sent from the respective component to the job manager to notify the job manager when the component begins to process a given job. A second job state change message is sent to the job manager from the component to notify the job manager when the component is done processing the given job.
