    Abstract: A shoulder adjuster apparatus includes an adjusting base secured to a car body, a sliding base mounted on the adjusting base, and a garnish sliding together with the sliding base. The adjusting base 1 includes side walls formed by bending both edges, which are arranged in the width direction, at about 90 degrees with respect to a flat surface to be attached to the car body, and engaging portions formed by bending the ends of the side walls inwardly. The engaging portions and the side walls form acute angles. The sliding base is slidably inserted into a sliding part, which is defined by the side walls, the engaging portions, and the flat surface. According to the structure as described above, a shoulder adjuster apparatus having excellent shock absorbency, capable of preventing degradation of performance due to deformation and the like, and having excellent safety characteristics can be provided.

    Abstract: A belt connecting metal fitting for a seat belt device of a vehicle comprises a metal fitting plate body, and a belt insertion means formed as a slot formed to the metal fitting plate body through which a seat belt is inserted. The belt inserting slot is provided with bulged portions on both surfaces of the plate body so as to provide a thickened portion at least to an edge portion with which the belt is engaged to form a central belt insertion hole, the edge portion of the belt inserting slot having substantially circular curved cross section. A belt mounting hole is formed to the metal fitting plate body to secure the belt. At least the belt engaging portion of the metal fitting plate body is coated with a resin material formed through a resin molding process with the belt insertion hole remaining uncoated.

    Abstract: A shoulder adjuster apparatus comprises an adjuster rail assembly attachable to and along an attaching portion of a vehicle body, and a slide garnish which covers a front surface side of the adjuster rail assembly. A slide assembly is slidably supported in a guide route formed within the adjuster rail assembly. A latch unit detachably latches the slide assembly at a predetermined position on the adjuster rail assembly. An operation mechanism releases the latch unit from a latched state. A webbing anchor unit is fixed on the slide assembly for supporting a webbing. The slide assembly is easily fixed with the slide garnish by a one-step snapping operation. In assembling the apparatus, the latch unit is mounted into a latch hole of the slide garnish. The operation mechanism is attached to a face side of the slide garnish, and a slide anchor base body is set to a back surface of the slide garnish.

    Abstract: A seat belt buckle assembly, for quick release engagement with a mating tongue, has a latch mounted on a base for pivotal motion between a latching position, where the latch engages the tongue against withdrawal from the buckle assembly, and an unlatching position where the latch releases the tongue. A push button is also pivotally mounted on the base in an overlying relation to the latch. Interposed between the latch and the push button is a dual purpose spring capable of acting on both latch and push button for biasing the latch from the unlatching toward the latching position, and the push button away from the latch. For causing the latch to release the tongue, the push button is to be pushed manually against the force of the dual purpose spring, whereupon the push button acts directly on the latch for pivoting the same from the latching to the unlatching position against the force of the dual purpose spring.

    Abstract: A retractor sensitive both to a rate of webbing withdrawal and to vehicle acceleration is disclosed. A reel for paying off and winding up the webbing is fixedly mounted on a rotary shaft sprung in a direction of webbing retraction. Mounted on an extension of the reel shaft is a locking mechanism including a locking ring which is cammed axially of the reel shaft extension for locking and unlocking the reel. A webbing sensor mechanism comprises a cam disc rotatably mounted on the reel shaft extension and normally engaged with the locking ring for joint rotation therewith, and an inertia member in the form of a heavy ratchet wheel also rotatably mounted on the reel shaft extension. The cam disc has eccentrically pivoted thereon a curved sensor arm which, upon rapid webbing extension, is pivoted by the ratchet wheel into engagement with one of ratchet teeth formed internally on a fixed housing.

    Abstract: When a tongue having a locking hole is inserted into a buckle, the edge of the locking hole is caught and locked by a catch of a rockable latch plate and is unlocked thereby when a slide button of the buckle is manually pressed in sliding movement, in which an inclined surface of the button actuates by wedge action lever-like arms of an actuating plate which, in turn, force a rockable link plate to rotate the latch plate until its catch releases the tongue. A number of springs are provided for return movements including a spring cocked by the inserted tongue for forcibly ejecting the tongue when it is released.
