  • Patent number: 5605459
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for making a dental set-up model utilizable in the practice of orthodontics and, more particularly, to facilitation of making the dental set-up model. The shape of an impression which is a replica of dental teeth and dental alveolar ridges of a patient is first converted on a non-contact basis into electronic data by means of a three-dimensional profile analyzer utilizing an irradiation beam. Using this electronic data and within the framework of such electronic data, representative plane defined by anatomically proximal contact points A1, anatomically distal contact points A2 and an intermediate point E between the bucco-cervical point B1 and the lingo-cervical point B2 are formed by cutting out the individual teeth.

  • Patent number: 4923115
Abstract: A mixing valve apparatus is disclosed, for producing a mixed fluid of a desired temperature obtained by mixing high temperature fluid and low temperature fluid with each other. The apparatus includes a pressure-sensitive control unit (6) which operates in response to the differential pressure (.DELTA.P) between the inlet pressure of the low temperature fluid and the pressure of the mixed fluid, and which unit controls the opening degree of an inlet valve (V.sub.1) for the high temperature fluid. Pilot passage (R.sub.0 .about.R.sub.3) for communicating the inlet pressure of the low temperature fluid to said unit is provided with a throttle (L, L.sub.1) whose effective surface area varies in response to the temperature of the mixed fluid, to compensate the opening degree of the inlet valve (V.sub.1) for the high temperature fluid upon variation of the temperature of the mixed fluid.

  • Patent number: 4723704
Abstract: A bimetal steam trap is disclosed, which includes a temperature-responsive valve arrangement and a bimetallic column formed of a plurality of pairs of bimetallic discs which are superposed with each other. The valve arrangement has a valve element normally biased by a spring toward its open position, which biasing force is overcome by the thermal expansion axial thrust generated by the bimetallic column when condensation temperature within the steam trap is above a predetermined level. To permit an axial displacement of the valve element in precise alignment with associated valve opening, an elongate valve member is provided at one end with the valve element, and serves to support the bimetallic column as an integrated sub-assembly.

  • Patent number: 4471906
Abstract: A thermostatically controlled trap provided that one end of a valve pushrod comes in direct contact with a ball valve when the valve pushrod is subjected to axial motion by the expansion of a thermosensitive member caused by a change in the temperature of a fluid flowing through the trap.
