  • Patent number: 5044013
Abstract: An interliner for a necktie includes a warp having yarns with different twist directions and hardness and a filling having yarns with different twist directions and hardness. Each hard yarn comprises a blend of fibers ranging in denier from about 8 to 15 and has a twist of about 7 to 10 turns per inch. Each soft yarn comprises a blend of fibers ranging in denier from about 3 to about 6 and has a twist of about 4-6 turns per inch. The yarns are sequentially arranged such that the twist direction and hardness sequence in the warp is the same as the twist direction and hardness sequence in the filling. In this way, the interliner provides crease resistance, cupping resistance and stretch control to the tie, while adding to the quality of the "hand" of the tie.

  • Patent number: 5012530
Abstract: A necktie including an outer casing and facing. The outer casing has a large end, a small end, a neckband portion and an intermediate knot forming portion. The facing has longitudinal sides and a central portion therebetween. Laterally spaced ears extend from the longitudinal sides and fold back toward the central portion. Each ear includes an end distal to its respective longitudinal side. These distal ends remain spaced from one another to form a valley therebetween. The facing is sewn to the back side of the outer casing such that the ears are in the vicinity of the knot forming portion. When a knot is placed in the knot forming portion, the ears cause a dimple to be formed in the outer casing immediately below the knot.

  • Patent number: 4123802
Abstract: The liner is produced by folding portions of an elongate piece of fabric into overlapping relation about one or more longitudinally extending fold lines, so that the folded liner, when inserted as a liner in a conventional necktie casing, will lend improved body and feel to the tie during use. The blank from which the liner is produced has a wide end and a narrow end, respectively, and in at least one embodiment includes an integral pocket section which can be attached to one end of the outer casing to provide therefor the conventional facing or tipping.
