  • Patent number: 5511596
Abstract: A rotor link attached to a debarking cylinder. An open link is attached to the rotor link and a chain is attached to the open link. The open link must be rotated forward in the direction of rotation of the debarking cylinder so that a flat area of the rotor link is presented adjacent the open area of the open link. This makes it less likely that the link will be disengaged by random movement of the chain during a debarking operation. Thus, individual chains can be removed without removal of the attachment rod and all the chains on the cylinder. A second chain may be attached to the open link through a similar series of translational and rotational movements.

  • Patent number: 5299706
Abstract: An improved lid for a pail of the type in which chain or cordage is typically stored and shipped allows a user access to the chain or cordage within the pail without removing the entire lid and provides a means for retaining the end of the chain or cordage in an easily accessible position for the next user. The lid uses a uniquely shaped area of the lid defined by a perimeter of reduced thickness designed to be easily cut out or punched out with a hammer. The resulting hole allows easy hand access to the chain or cordage and has a notch at one side for hanging the loose end of the chain or cordage on for subsequent use.

  • Patent number: 4674821
Abstract: A base for a CRT has an outside diameter which is less than the outside diameter of the tube neck. A plurality of resilient detents are integral with the base and act against the exhaust tubulation to help retain the base on the neck of the tube. A silo is integral with the base and surrounds the high voltage pin. The pins freely pass through pinslots to avoid bending the pins when putting the base onto the neck. The pinslots are configured to facilitate the reception of bent or misaligned pins.

  • Patent number: 4573935
Abstract: A sealing fixture for aligning the sealing edges of a funnel and a panel of a kinescope during fritting is tilted so that a funnel placed in the fixture is gravity moved toward a corner of the fixture. All contact between the funnel and the fixture is made through rotatable referencing elements so that gravity accurately positions the funnel in the fixture.

  • Patent number: 4504430
Abstract: Method for casting a base directly on an electron tube comprising a stem and stem leads sealed in and extending out from the stem includes: A. detachably coupling a mold to the leads and stem, B. producing a temporary pressure seal between the mold and the stem including applying static pressure in a direction that is substantially normal to the surface of the stem and C. injecting liquid castable material into the mold at substantial hydraulic pressure while maintaining the static pressure at the temporary seal.

  • Patent number: 4467242
Abstract: A cathode ray tube includes a faceplate panel with a plurality of electrode support studs distributed about and attached to the panel. A color selection electrode having a plurality of support springs is disposed within the panel. Each of the support springs comprises a strap-like element having a proximal end secured to the electrode and a distal end spaced from the electrode. A washer-like element is located between the panel and the distal end of at least one of the strap-like elements. The washer-like element has a frustoconically-shaped portion with an aperture therein for snugly receiving one of the studs. The base portion of the washer-like element is substantially flat and is permanently secured to the strap-like element near its distal end.

  • Patent number: 4405950
Abstract: A color television display system handling and adjustment apparatus provides a means for maintaining accurate alignment between the base of a kinescope and an energization socket. The kinescope location within the apparatus is referenced to the kinescope front panel contour so that transverse movement of the kinescope does not cause significant movement of the kinescope base. The apparatus also provides means for simulating convergence adjustment of yokes constructed for front and rear tilt convergence adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4345812
Abstract: An electron tube base comprises a cup-like housing and a wafer flange extending radially outwardly from an open end of the housing. The base is mounted over the stem of an electron tube with the stem's exhaust tubulation disposed in the housing in a close fit and the stem's lead-in conductors extending through apertures in the flange. The flange has a dielectric-receiving recess around one of the conductors and the internal surface of the housing wall has a pair of open longitudinal channels along which the dielectric material can be force-flowed into the recess from the opposite end of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4261013
Abstract: An apparatus for locating the position of the horizontal centerline on the display screen of a television kinescope comprises two screen edge sensors disposed at the top and bottom of the display screen. The edge sensors are mounted on a vertically movable member at a separation equal to the vertical dimension of the display screen. Each edge sensor comprises a light source for directing a beam of light at the kinescope along a first light path and a detector for sensing the different amount of radiation returned from the display screen and the adjacent reflective aluminum coating along a second light path. The sensors are moved until the detector outputs are equal, indicating the sensor is located at similar positions with respect to the top and bottom screen edges. The mid-point between the sensor is then the location of the horizontal centerline of the display screen.

  • Patent number: 4253077
Abstract: A deflection adjustment device for a television deflection yoke and kinescope comprises a pair of magnetically permeable tabs adapted for linear movement along the kinescope minor axis. Means are provided for translating the rotary motion of a yoke adjustment machine into the desired linear tab travel. The tabs are moved in equal amounts, either toward or away from the yoke axis, to maintain the tabs equidistant from the yoke axis in order to correct coma errors.

  • Patent number: 4245205
Abstract: A convergence correction arrangement for a television display system using a deflection yoke mounted coaxially upon the neck of a kinescope includes first and second magnetically permeable tabs contiguous with the beam entrance end of the yoke. The tabs are located on opposite sides of the axis and a fixed separation is maintained between them. A first track constrains the tabs against tangential motion relative to the axis while permitting radial motion. A rotary drive arrangement suited to being engaged by a yoke adjustment machine includes a second track having radial and tangentially-directed components. The second track engages the tabs whereby roatary motion of the rotary drive arrangement drives the convergence-adjusting tabs radially and provides differential motion of the tabs relative to the axis for convergence control.

  • Patent number: 4160510
Abstract: A CRT (cathode-ray tube) in combination with a notch-sealed band tensioned around the tube characterized in that the inner overlapping end portion of the band is folded at least twice upon itself and is positioned between the tube and the band. In the method, one end of the band is folded at least twice upon itself. The band is positioned around the tube with the end portions overlapping, the folded portion toward the tube and a sheathlike metal clip around the overlapping end portions of the band and against the inside of the end fold of the folded end of the band. Then, the clip is pushed against the end fold, and the outer end portion of the band is pulled until the desired maximum tensile force is applied, at which point the clip and overlapping end portions of the band are notched together.
