    Abstract: Provided are a master recording medium and a method of manufacturing the master recording medium. The master recording medium includes: a plate; and a magnetic layer which is formed on the plate for magnetically transferring of a servo pattern that is to be formed on a magnetic recording medium. The method of manufacturing a master recording medium includes: engraving a polymer layer by nano imprinting to form an engraved pattern corresponding to a servo pattern to be formed on a magnetic recording medium; forming a magnetic layer which fills in the engraved pattern of the polymer layer; forming a back plate layer on the magnetic layer; and performing processing to expose the servo pattern on a surface of the magnetic layer that is opposite a surface of the magnetic layer on which the back plate layer is formed.

    Abstract: An integrated optical head is provided. In the integrated optical head, a light source emits light. A waveguide guides the light. An input coupler is located at one edge of the waveguide, and couples light emitted from the light source and transmits the coupled light to the waveguide. An output coupler is located at another edge of the waveguide, and couples light emitted from the waveguide and focuses the coupled light on an optical disc. A light path changing unit is installed on the waveguide, and changes the light path of light that has been reflected by the optical disc and then passed through the output coupler. An optical detector receives the light passed through the light path changing unit and converts the received light into an electrical signal in order to detect information from the optical disc. Accordingly, an input coupling efficiency and an output coupling efficiency are improved, such that light loss is reduced.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a solvent-soluble stamp for nano-imprint lithography is provided. According to the method, a stamp is formed on a master substrate made of an ultraviolet-transparent material, using a material which is soluble in a solvent, and then a metal stamp or another stamp for a nano-imprint lithography is manufactured using the solvent-soluble stamp. Next, the stamp for nano-imprint lithography can be achieved by melting the soluble stamp. Therefore, it is possible to reuse the master several times. Further, it is possible to solve a problem in which a mold cannot be separated from the stamp. Furthermore, a uniform and clean stamp with a nano size can be obtained.
