  • Publication number: 20230266010
Abstract: A fuel injector is provided for a turbine engine. This fuel injector includes a fuel nozzle, and the fuel nozzle includes a gallery, one or more feed passages and a plurality of exit passages. The gallery extends within the fuel nozzle circumferentially around an axis between a first end of the gallery and a second end of the gallery. A size of the gallery changes as the gallery extends circumferentially around the axis between the first end of the gallery and the second end of the gallery. The one or more feed passages extend within the fuel nozzle to the gallery. The one or more feed passages are configured to supply fuel to the gallery. The exit passages extend within the fuel nozzle from the gallery. The exit passages are configured to receive the fuel from the gallery.

  • Patent number: 11486581
Abstract: The fuel nozzle can have a proximal member having a first mating portion defined around an assembly axis, a first fluid conduit internal to the proximal member and spaced apart from the assembly axis, and a first stop facing a first circumferential direction; and a distal member having a second mating portion configured for axial engagement with the first mating portion along the assembly axis, a second stop facing a second circumferential direction, the second circumferential direction opposite the first circumferential direction and configured to abut against the first stop when the distal member and proximal member are axially engaged to one another in a predetermined relative circumferential alignment.

  • Patent number: 11466859
Abstract: A nozzle assembly for a gas turbine engine, comprising: a nozzle at a downstream end of the assembly relative to fuel flow; a first and a second body upstream of the nozzle, the first body defining a first passage between a first inlet connectable to a source and a first outlet, and the second body defining a second passage between a second inlet and a second outlet in fluid communication with the nozzle, the inlets in fluid communication with each other; the bodies matingly engaged together along an axis, the inlets spaced apart relative to the axis to define a gallery having a depth in an axial direction and a width in a transverse direction; and a gap filler within the gallery, compressible in at least one of the directions, having an uncompressed dimension greater than a corresponding dimension of the gallery in the at least one of the directions.

  • Publication number: 20220163205
Abstract: A fuel swirler has a swirler housing defining an interior chamber having a fuel outlet at a downstream end. A swirler core is mounted inside the interior chamber. The swirler core has a downstream end portion with one or more fuel channels disposed thereon. The one or more fuel channels is in fluid communication with the fuel outlet. An internal bore extends longitudinally through the swirler core. The internal bore has an inlet connectable to a source of fuel. One or more exit holes fluidly connects the internal bore to the one or more fuel channels. An annular air gap is provided radially between the swirler housing and the swirler core for thermally shielding the internal bore.
