  • Patent number: 4881289
Abstract: A paint-coating brush is disclosed which comprises a body with an axial center bore and with a threaded portion on the butt side, a plurality of piliform members bundled on the outer surface of a muzzle-side end portion of the body, a cylindrical sleeve for fastening the piliform members to the body, and a cylindrical cover tube with which the piliform members are sheathed in such a manner that one end portion of the piliform members is left unsheathed. The cover tube is either made of a rigid material or in the form of a strap wound round the piliform members and the sleeve. In order to mount this paint-coating brush on an automatic paint-coating installation such as a robot, the above-mentioned threaded portion of the body is threaded into a tapped hole in the paint-coating installation.

  • Patent number: 4843874
Abstract: For checking the workmanship of paint coating, light is shed on the portion of the surface of an object where a paint has been applied. The intensity of light reflected by this portion of the surface gives a clue to a judgment on the acceptability of the paint coating. The judgment is passed by checking whether or not the above-mentioned intensity of light falls within a preset level. The level to be preset is variable according to the intensity of light reflected by the surface, the intensity of light in this case being measured prior to the application of the paint. The light reflected by the portion of the surface where the paint has been applied is resolved into three colors. A checkup is carried out on whether or not the sum of the intensities of light representing these three colors corresponds to a level preset for the amount of this sum. A level to be preset is selected from among data stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 4832580
Abstract: Provided are a pair of pumps, each of which comprises a bellows having an intake inlet and a discharge outlet, a reciprocating drive means for contraction and expansion movements of the bellows, and a couple of electro-magnetic on-off valves disposed respectively in the intake inlet side and discharge outlet side of the bellows, so that, during the contracting motion of the bellows, the electro-magnetic on-off valve in the intake inlet side becomes closed while the electro-magnetic on-off valve in the discharge outlet side becomes open, and during the expanding motion of the bellows, the electro-magnetic on-off valve in the intake inlet side becomes open while the electro-magnetic on-off valve in the discharge outlet side becomes closed. The paired pumps perform the discharge motions alternately. The discharge outlets of the pumps at their ends are fluidly connected via a directional valve with a discharging gun.
