    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for front-lit displays having uniform brightness. In one embodiment, an example display may include an electrophoretic display, a light guide configured to direct light from one or more light emitting diodes, and a cover lens assembly. The cover lens assembly may include a cover glass layer, an anti-glare film coupled to the cover glass layer, and a hot melt adhesive disposed about lateral edge surfaces of the cover glass layer and the anti-glare film, such that the hot melt adhesive forms a perimeter of the cover lens assembly.

    Abstract: A cover glass of an electronic device may be inspected for defects and damage such as cracks, fractures, scratches, and chips. The electronic device may be placed in an enclosure with a lighting assembly that emits light to the electronic device, and scattered light from defects and damage of the cover glass is captured by an imaging device. A shutter assembly facilitates the capture of scattered light and reduces the capture of reflected light, which enhances the exposure of defects and damage of the captured image of the cover glass. A mirror facilitates the capture of a side surface of the electronic device.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for writing data to a display. In one aspect, the display includes an array of display elements arranged at the intersection of a plurality of common lines and segment lines. The display also includes a common driver and a segment driver coupled to the common lines and segment lines. According to one aspect, the display includes a greater number of segment lines than columns of display elements in the array. According to another aspect, the display may also include a first number of display element segment electrodes that are coupled to each other along a first common line, and a second number of display element segment electrodes coupled to each other along a second common line, where the first number is different than the second number.
