  • Patent number: 7058480
Abstract: A power supply control apparatus is provided in which it is possible to easily calculate and predict a necessary and sufficient power consumption value in a device which consumes electric power. As a result, it can positively prevent a shortage or surplus of the power supply capacity, thus saving unnecessary costs for power supply equipment. Still further, it is also prevent the occurrence of critical situations such as missing or loss of stored information due to a shortage of the power supply capacity. To this end, in a device which is supplied with electric power from a power supply unit, configuration units constituting the device are stored as configuration information, and an amount of power consumed by each configuration unit is also stored as power consumption information. Based on the configuration information and the power consumption information thus stored, there is obtained a power consumption value of the device, on the basis of which a prescribed processing is carried out.

  • Patent number: 5793945
Abstract: A device for the initial-diagnosing of processors is provided with a processor module, a storage unit, an address allocation unit and a diagnostic execution unit. The processor module has a processor and a cache storage unit. The storage unit stores an initial diagnostic setting program which diagnoses the processor and the cache storage unit. The address allocation unit allocates the addresses of the processor by making the addresses of the processor correspond to the addresses of the cache storage unit so that the cache storage unit is accessed by the processor. The diagnostic execution unit reads the initial diagnostic setting program stored in the storage unit into the addresses of the cache storage unit allocated by the address allocation unit, and executes the initial diagnostic setting program.

  • Patent number: 5781795
Abstract: A computer system wherein at the time of system installation, no matter what keyboard is used, the user can use that keyboard to proceed with the installation processing in the same way as when a standard keyboard is used. The computer system has a new internal storage medium, while a keyboard recognition and processing unit is formed in the existing RAM. The keyboard recognition and processing unit writes various types of keyboard control information in the above-mentioned RAM based on installation information read from an external storage medium and reads the keyboard ID from the above keyboard. The keyboard control information corresponding to the keyboard ID is selected from the various types of keyboard control information and is held in the internal storage medium. The ROM monitor part uses the keyboard control information in the internal storage to execute the installation processing.

  • Patent number: 5557691
Abstract: An image processing system which includes a storage device that stores drawing information corresponding to the resolution, the stored drawing information being changeable when the resolution of the image processing system is changed. A buffer temporarily stores format codes corresponding to image information to be displayed on the display device. A host processing unit receives the format codes from the buffer and the drawing information from the storage device and converts the format codes into modified format codes in accordance with the received drawing information so that the modified format codes represent image information which is displayable on the display device. The invention also compares the resolution of image information to be displayed with the resolution of image information currently displayed and changes the resolution of the system if the resolution of image information to be displayed is different from the current resolution.
