  • Patent number: 6532713
Abstract: A joint structure for joining a composite beam and a column is disclosed. The composite beam includes an I-beam and a pair of wooden members. The joint structure includes a mortise pin provided on the composite beam and protruding beyond an outer surface of one of the wooden members. The mortise pin is provided with a through-hole at a predetermined position. A bottom hole is provided at a bottom surface of the column in a manner that the bottom hole is adapted to receive the mortise pin. A horizontal hole is provided at a side face of the column at a position corresponding to the through-hole of the mortise pin. The composite beam is connected with the column by first inserting the mortise pin into the bottom hole of the column and then inserting a locking pin into the through-hole of the mortise pin and the horizontal hole of the column such that joint of the composite beam and the column is firmly secured. A method of joining a composite beam and a column is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5347665
Abstract: A carbonate spring bath system creates a bath water dissolved with CO.sub.2 gas and supplies the same to a bathtub. The system includes a source of a concentrated CO.sub.2 gas, a circulation path connected to the bathtub and including a booster pump for circulating a bath water from and into the bathtub. CO.sub.2 gas and air supply lines are connected to the circulation path upstream of the pump. The CO.sub.2 gas and air supply lines includes valves which are opened and closed to provide the CO.sub.2 gas and the air at a suitable mixture ratio such that the CO.sub.2 gas and air are forced to dissolve in the pressurized bath water. Disposed downstream of the pump is an accumulator for separating undissolved gas in the bath water and storing in a gas chamber the undissolved gas emanating from the bath water. A recycle line connects the gas chamber to the circulation path upstream of the pump to return the undissolved gas to the circulation path.

  • Patent number: 4907305
Abstract: A bubbling bathtub system including both a large bubble generator, which blows relatively large bubbles into a bathtub, and a minute bubble generator, which functions so that bath water with air dissolved therein by pressurization is sent to the bathtub to produce minute bubbles in the bath water, connected to the bathtub. The relatively large bubbles produced by the large bubble generator and the minute bubbles produced by the minute bubble generator cooperate to enhance the good feeling produced during bathing. Both or either of the relatively large bubbles and the minute bubbles can be optionally produced as the user desires for optimum effect.
