    Abstract: Examinational information for identifying non-DICOM-format images obtained by a medical imaging apparatus can be acquired whenever necessary. A medical imaging apparatus outputs character information representing examinational information data received from a server through a terminal and captured medical image data to a data processing apparatus. The data processing apparatus acquires examinational information data corresponding to the medical image data from the server in advance, and stores and manages the examinational information data in a local database of the data processing apparatus. It is thus possible to acquire desired examinational information from the local database whenever necessary to generate DICOM data.

    Abstract: A plurality of photographs taken in a time series are divided into pieces of image data, and a probability that date information can be extracted from the piece of image data is judged by pieces of image data. The date information is preferentially extracted from the piece of image data which is higher in the probability, and a piece of image data, representing a photograph taken between a pair of photographs represented by a pair of pieces of image data having the same date information, is given the same date information.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus whereby a processed image of high image quality is obtained at a high speed when image data is subjected to an image process, is provided. Image data read out from a media is subjected to an image input process in a computer and stored temporarily in a buffer. Then, in accordance with the characteristics of the image process to be performed, a several line portion of the image data stored in the buffer is read out and subjected to a magnification process in the X direction; the processed image data is stored temporarily in another buffer, and further subjected to a magnification process in the Y direction. The processed image data is subjected to an image output process according to the characteristics of the printer driver, and after being stored in another buffer, is outputted by a printer.
