  • Patent number: 9146793
Abstract: A management system outputs catalog data, which has been created based on catalog-source data comprising data showing at least an application of a relevant resource with respect to each of multiple providable resources, and which shows the respective applications of the multiple resources, and receives a selection of a resource to be provided from the multiple resources. The management system provides the selected resource as a provided resource, and determines, based on a performance threshold configured with respect to the application of the provided resource, whether or not a performance measurement value, which relates to the processing performance of a network service using the provided resource and which can be monitored by the management system, is normal.

  • Patent number: 8155766
Abstract: A power-saving computer system comprises a plurality of storage areas provided by one or more storage systems, including at least one first storage area which is always powered on and at least one second storage area which is periodically powered on and off according to a power control schedule. The at least one first storage area provides primary and secondary volumes of a first backup set that is scheduled as always paired. For a second backup set that is scheduled as normally suspended and resynchronized according to a backup schedule, a primary volume of the second backup set is included in the at least one first storage area and a secondary volume of the second backup set is included in the at least one second storage area. The at least one second storage area is powered on during every backup time for resynchronizing the second backup set according to the backup schedule.

  • Patent number: 8122212
Abstract: Logical volume management for storage subsystem in virtual machine environment is disclosed. In one embodiment, a storage system comprises a storage subsystem including a processor, a memory, one or more virtual disks, and one or more logical disks each corresponding to a physical storage area in the storage subsystem; and a host computer connected with the storage subsystem via a network, the host computer including virtual machines running thereon, the virtual machines each being connected to at least one of the virtual disks or logical disks in the storage subsystem. In the storage subsystem, abstract disks each represent one of the virtual disks or logical disks. An abstract disk management table is stored in the memory of the storage subsystem to manage a relationship between the abstract disks and the one or more virtual disks and between the abstract disks and the one or more logical disks.

  • Patent number: 8051262
Abstract: A storage system stores golden image of a server or any physical/virtual machine execution environment and associate the golden image and the storage port. The storage system also creates the copy of the golden image to the logical volume, and allocates the internal path between the storage port and the logical volume. Upon receiving an access request from the host computer via the storage port, the storage system transfers the access request between the storage port and the logical volume which stores the copy of golden image associated with the host computer.
