  • Publication number: 20070118806
Abstract: An electronic apparatus capable of displaying linked pages in turn by an easy operation for users is provided. In a <body> element in an SMIL document, the attribute ??dur=t is added to URI description for specifying a media element. The resulting notation implies that a file name placed before ?? indicates a designated page and a link destination of the designated page is displayed. A numerical value following dur= indicates the duration for which a given link contained in the designated page can be activated. An SMIL player interprets an SMIL document having such a description, so as to allow auto-linking to the link destinations of the designated page with the defined link intervals.

  • Publication number: 20040017513
Abstract: An electronic equipment capable of displaying input data from an external interface in a display region defined by a layout script text and of enabling a user to easily select a layout which is desired to be adopted is provided. The electronic equipment, such as a television set, takes in a layout script text from outside through, for example, a network to store it in the electronic equipment, which layout script text defines at least media information and a display region of the media information, which is input through various interfaces such as a video input terminal, broadcast reception, a reader of a detachably mountable storage medium. The user selects an arbitrary layout script text among the stored layout script texts. Then, the electronic equipment reproduces media information in accordance with the selected layout script text to display the media information.

  • Patent number: 5978039
Abstract: In a television equipped with an image control apparatus, when a signal reception condition is deteriorated, a poor image is not displayed on the television screen by reproducing saved image data. The image control apparatus is arranged by a receiver for receiving a signal including image data, a detecting device for detecting disturbance of the; signal received by the receiver, a memory for saving the image data included in the signal received by the receiver, and a display controller for controlling display of the image data on a display unit. That image data saved in the memory is read out on the detecting device detecting the disturbance of the signal and is displayed, while the disturbance of the signal is continued.

  • Patent number: 5966354
Abstract: A first objective lens and a second objective lens are fixedly mounted on a lens holder. The lens holder has four magnetic members embedded in a side thereof about an axis of rotation. The magnetic members are associated with coils respectively. The lens holder is rotatable supported by a support which has four permanent magnets fixedly mounted on a side thereof corresponding to the four coils. A pair of the magnets located opposite to each other is for the focusing control and the other pair of the magnets located opposite to each other is for the tracking control and the objective lens switching control. When the coils corresponding to the magnets are loaded with a switching signal, they turns the lens holder to switch the objective lenses from one to the other. When the coils corresponding to the magnets are loaded with a tracking drive signal, they perform the tracking control. When the coils corresponding to the magnets are loaded with a focusing drive signal, they perform the focusing control.

  • Patent number: 5721723
Abstract: An optical disk drive which is a data recording device or a data reproducing device having two movable members. The first movable member has two objective lenses on it. A magnetic circuit is secured to the second movable member to apply a magnetic field to the tracking coil attached to the first movable member. The first and second movable members can rotate around a shaft. The first objective lens or the second objective lens is selected and used in accordance with the type of the disk used. The device can therefore record data on or reproduce data from disk of different types. Further, since the angle at which the second movable member is inclined to the shaft remains unchanged, the device can record data on or reproduce data from a disk, without causing coma-aberration or the like, no matter whether the first object lens or the second objective lens is selected and used.

  • Patent number: 5696565
Abstract: A CPU is designed so as to put a demagnetizing circuit in an operative state in accordance with a result of detecting, among other quantities or events, the number of operations to turn on a power counted by a counter, the lapse of time under a predetermined condition measured by a timer since the pulling-out of an AC plug, the movement of the main body of a display device sensed by a sensor unit, an external magnetic field sensed by a sensor unit or a residual magnetism in a CRT itself sensed by a sensor unit. Instead of carrying out demagnetization each time the power is turned on, demagnetization is performed only under certain conditions when necessary, diminishing the problem of wasteful power consumption. On the top of that, the number of cases in which sound and picture vibration are generated due to a demagnetizing operation carried out right after the turning-on of the power is reduced, resulting in a product easy to handle by the user.

  • Patent number: 5610885
Abstract: According to an optical head device access mechanism, drive coils, which provide propulsive force for moving an objective lens, and position sensors, which detect the position of the slide base, are arranged at a position where all driving force and frictional force corresponding to the driving force can be surely detected. The present position of the slide base corresponding to a level of a drive current supplied to the drive coils and its moving speed are converted to a compensation driving current for generating driving force corresponding to driving force lost by frictional force by a position/speed controlling circuit.

  • Patent number: 5187702
Abstract: In an apparatus for moving an objective lens, the objective lens (2) mounted on a lens support is suspended on a support frame by tracking leaf springs (6) and focusing leaf springs (8), each of the tracking leaf springs (6) and each of the focusing leaf springs (8) being coupled to each other. Focusing (26a) and tracking (26b) coils are provided on the lens support and are arranged in a magnetic circuit fixed to the support frame. The support frame is movably supported on side rails and coupled to a linear motor mechanism (28). In a long-stroke access, the support frame is moved in a access signal by the linear motor mechanism along a radial direction of an optical disk. In a middle-stroke access or a tracking operation, the magnetic circuit is energized in response to the access signal or a focusing signal so that the tracking leaf spring (6) is deformed by an interaction force between a current supplied to the tracking coils (26b) and magnetic fluxes generated from the magnetic circuit.
