  • Patent number: 7854156
Abstract: A closing device 100 which presses a die 2 against a rotating pipe body 1 such that an open end portion of the pipe body 1 is plastically closed by the die 2 includes a cored bar 3 inserted into the pipe body 1 to close the open end portion of the pipe body 1 on the opposite side of the die 2, and a reactive force applying mechanism 43, 60 which allows the cored bar 3 to retreat and applies a reactive force to the retreating cored bar 3 when the cored bar 3 receives a predetermined load or more during processing of the pipe body 1 by the die 2.

  • Publication number: 20080168819
Abstract: A closing device (100) closes an open end portion of a tubular body (1) using a die (2). The closing device (100) includes a core (3) that is inserted into the tubular body (1) and closes the open end portion of the tubular body (1) on the opposite side of the die (2), first heating device (53) that heats the tubular body (1) during a closing process and are also capable of heating the core (3), and second heating device (54) that heats the die (2). At the start of the closing process, the core (3) and the die (2) are preheated by the first heating device (53) and the second heating device (54) respectively, and the closing process is begun when the temperature difference between the tubular body (1) and the core (3) and die (2) is small.

  • Patent number: 7222509
Abstract: The holder member 4 is rotatably supported at the tip portion 2a of the sliding member 2 placed on the guide face 1a of the guide member 1 arranged fixedly inside the cylinder C. The holder member 4 is inclined when the tip portion 3a of the profiling member 3 is inserted between the holder member 4 and the sliding member 2. Then the tapered end of the processing roller 6 is pushed into the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder where the sliding member 2 and the profiling member 3 move together in the axial direction of the cylinder, thereby to form a linear groove on the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder C.
