  • Patent number: 5209576
Abstract: A linear motion guide unit includes a U-shaped bed, a U-shaped table turned upside down, a plurality of rolling members in a guide channel defined between the bed and the table, a retainer for retaining the rolling members in position, a pin provided at each end of the retainer and a belt provided at each end of the unit with its one end fixedly attached to the bed, its other end fixedly attached to the table and its intermediate portion passed around the pin. Thus, the retainer is moved only in synchronism with the table or bed and over a half of the distance travelled by the table or bed.

  • Patent number: 4943169
Abstract: A thin type linear motion rolling guide unit with a deviation preventing apparatus of a holder mainly comprises: a flat attaching plate having a pinion rod; a U-shaped long bed fixed onto the attaching plate and having horizontal track grooves on opposite inner wall surfaces; an inverse U-shaped long table having outer horizontal track grooves on the outer wall surfaces, the table being slidably inserted in an inner cavity of the bed with gaps; and a U-shaped long holder arranged between the bed and the table. First and second pinions having the same tooth shape and a gear ratio of 1:2 area formed in the upper portion of the pinion rod so as to penetrate the bottom wall of the bed and a long hole formed in the holder and to project therefrom. A J-shaped second rack member is attached to the inner wall surface of the table. A rack surface is formed on the inner wall surface of the second rack member in engagement with the teeth of the second pinion.

  • Patent number: 4735514
Abstract: A roller bearing for an infinite rectilinear motion is composed of a long truck rail; a casing mounted astride the truck rail, and having truck faces in opposition to the truck faces of the truck rail, and having return passages for rollers arranged in a parallel-roller type between the faces of the truck rail and the casing. Side plates having direction change passages are fixed on the both longitudinal ends of the casing, and the direction change passages connect the truck face and the return passage. A shifting passage is formed at the connection of the truck face with the direction change passage to cause the rollers to go away off the truck rail without changing the angle between the roller axis and the horizon. Further, a twisting passage follows the shifting passage to change the angle between the roller axis and the horizon. Those passages enable rollers to smoothly go in and out of the truck face with relatively less resistance.

  • Patent number: 4692037
Abstract: A roller bearing is composed of a truck rail, a casing mounted astride the truck rail and a number of rollers arranged in a parallel-roller type; a return passage formed in the casing is connected to a truck face of the truck rail through a direction change passage for an infinite rectilinear motion, further in a part of the direction change passage there is formed a twisting passage, which makes it possible to form the truck groove and the return passage approximately on the same horizontal plane. Further in a bearing having four rows of endless circulation passages, the twisting passage can be formed either only in a pair of corresponding roller-rows or in the all of the roller-rows. Thus there can be provided a roller-bearing having the lowest possible sectional height, and comparatively a great load capacity, at a reasonable price.

  • Patent number: 4692038
Abstract: A linear motion rolling contact bearing assembly includes a rail, a slider movable along the rail, and a plurality of balls partly interposed between the slider and the rail to provide a rolling contact relation between the slider and the rail. The rail is provided with at least one inner guide groove and the slider is provided with at least one outer guide groove which is located in an oppositely disposed relation to the inner guide groove, thereby defining a load section. The slider is also provided with an endless path which includes the load section as a part thereof, and a plurality of balls are received in the endless path. The inner and outer guide grooves are structured such that each of the balls in the load section contacts at one point with each of the inner and outer guide grooves under light load conditions. Under heavy load conditions, all of the balls in the load section contact at two points with each of the inner and outer guide grooves to provide an increased load bearing ability.

  • Patent number: 4629260
Abstract: A rolling-contact bearing assembly includes an inner guide member having a U-shaped cross section, an outer guide member having a U-shaped cross section and arranged to substantially enclose the inner guide member as oriented in the same direction in a piggyback fashion, and rolling members interposed between the inner and outer guide members to allow a relative motion therebetween. Such a piggyback arrangement is advantageous in enhancing the structural integrity of the assembly and making the assembly smaller in size.
