  • Patent number: 9292267
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide a solution for compiling data. In an embodiment, an input query is received in a first language. The input query is translated to a nested relational algebra (NRA) in the form of a first intermediate representation (IR), wherein the first IR comprises a high-level functional language including algebraic operators. A set of algorithms of the algebraic operators is implemented to compile at least some of the first IR into a second IR, wherein the second IR comprises a data-flow language. At least one of the first IR and the second IR is compiled into a low-level code.

  • Publication number: 20140289706
Abstract: A test case is generated by receiving software specification, generating a test case including a test input value for particular software from the software specification, as well as an expected output value expected to be obtained as an output value when the software is executed by inputting the test input value, and checking whether a value that can be output in the software specification is included in the expected output value. As a result of the check, if it is determined that the output value that can be output in the software specification is not included in the expected output value, a test case including the value that can be output in the software specification as well as a corresponding test input value is generated and added to the test case that has been generated.

  • Publication number: 20140218042
Abstract: This device and method use the complex impedance of a rechargeable battery to detect the state of the rechargeable battery. A computer determines the slope of the complex impedance at least two different frequencies in a diffusion region of the rechargeable battery when a straight-line approximation has been made, and compares the slope with a threshold value. If the slope is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the computer determines that the battery has a normal capacity balance, and if the slope is less than the threshold value, the computer determines that the battery has an abnormal unbalanced capacity. Furthermore, if the magnitude of an imaginary axis component of the complex impedance in the diffusion region of the rechargeable battery is greater than the threshold battery, the computer determines that the battery has an abnormal capacity balance, and if said magnitude is less than or equal to the threshold value, the computer determines that the battery has a normal capacity balance.

  • Patent number: 8374900
Abstract: The reliability of a composite service having service components is determined, where the composite service can fail only where underlying resources fail. The composite service is represented as a plurality of continuous-time Markov chains (CTMC's). Each CTMC corresponds to a resource. A product of the CTMC's is constructed. The product encompasses composite service states. Steady-state probabilities for the product are determined. Each steady-state probability corresponds to a likelihood that a corresponding state will be a steady state. For each state of the composite service, a reward structure is determined. The reward structure corresponds to a likelihood that the state will successfully use the resources without failure. The reward structure is determined for a given state based on the given state's steady-state probability and based on discrete-time Markov chains (DTMC's) corresponding to the service components.

  • Patent number: 8000915
Abstract: An apparatus for accurately estimating the SOC of a rechargeable battery installed in a hybrid electric vehicle. A voltage variation measurement unit measures terminal voltage variation amount of the rechargeable battery in a no-battery-current state in which a charge-discharge current does not flow in the rechargeable battery. A polarization voltage calculator calculates a polarization voltage from the measured variation amount. An electromotive force calculator subtracts the polarization voltage from a non-load voltage in a state in which a charge-discharge path is open to calculate the electromotive force of the rechargeable battery. An SOC estimator estimates the SOC of the rechargeable battery based on the electromotive force.
