  • Patent number: 9221872
Abstract: This invention provides compounds including peptides and peptidomimetics that can be used to treat cell proliferative disorders, such as those associated with benign and malignant tumor cells. While the invention is not limited to any particular mechanism, the compounds of the invention appear to function at least in part by inhibiting G2 cell cycle checkpoint. Thus, invention compounds can be used to inhibit cell growth alone or be used in combination with a nucleic acid damaging treatment to inhibit cell growth.

  • Publication number: 20150276659
Abstract: In a sensor element 101, a reference gas regulation pump cell 90 pumps in oxygen to the periphery of a reference electrode 42 in which a reference gas is introduced, by the flow of a control current Ip3 between the reference electrode 42 and an outer pump electrode 23 located in a region exposed to a measurement-object gas. An average current density of the reference electrode 42 under the flow of this control current Ip3 is higher than 0 ?A/mm2 and lower than 400 ?A/mm2. The average current density is preferably not higher than 170 ?A/mm2. An average value of the control current Ip3 is preferably higher than 1 ?A. The outer pump electrode 23 as a measurement-object gas side electrode of the reference gas regulation pump cell 90 may be provided on an outer surface of a layered body (or more specifically, on a second solid electrolyte layer 6).

The diffusion rate-controlling portion 54a is formed between one or more and three or less surfaces, e.g., an upper surface 58a, of upper, lower, left and right inner peripheral surfaces of a measurement-object gas flowing portion and a partition wall 56. A measurement electrode 44 is formed on one, e.g., a lower surface 62b, of upper, lower, left and right inner peripheral surfaces of a third inner cavity 61, the one surface being different in orientation from the surface along which the diffusion rate-controlling portion 54a is formed. The diffusion rate-controlling portion 54 and the measurement electrode 44 may be formed on surfaces opposite to each other. A distance L between the measurement electrode 44 and the diffusion rate-controlling portion 54a may be 0.1 mm or more.

  • Publication number: 20150268192
Abstract: A method for setting a temperature rising profile of a sensor element in the activation of a gas sensor is capable of quickly increasing the temperature of the sensor element while reliably preventing or reducing the occurrence of a crack. The method includes Weibull plotting a failure rate that is a cumulative frequency at which a crack occurs as a result of the rapid temperature rising of the sensor element, identifying a temperature-rising-rate upper limit from the plotting results, determining, based on the temperature-rising-rate upper limit, a temperature-rise upper limit curve, and determining, as an appropriate function, a temperature rising profile in a range in which a temperature rising rate at an appropriate temperature does not exceed values on the temperature-rising-rate upper limit curve for the temperature.

  • Publication number: 20140377139
Abstract: A mixing device used in a fluidized catalytic cracking apparatus which mixes feed and a catalyst includes a cylindrical reaction container which supplies a catalyst in a vertical direction; a plurality of feed injection nozzles arranged along an outer circumference of the reaction container; and a catalyst flow regulator which is provided in the reaction container and regulates a flow of the catalyst in the vicinity of the feed injection nozzles. The catalyst flow regulator has no feed supply function and forms a catalyst moving bed having a hollow tubular shape which is coaxial with the reaction container in the vicinity of the feed injection nozzles. The catalyst flow regulator can effectively prevent backward flow of injected fuel. Although the mixing device has a simple structure, it has a high cracking rate and maintenance of the fluidized catalytic cracking apparatus can be performed easier.

  • Patent number: 8747635
Abstract: A gas sensor is provided with a multilayer body of solid electrolyte layers, a measurement electrode, a reference electrode, a reference gas introduction layer, a detection unit and a heater. The reference electrode and the measurement electrode are formed directly on the same first solid electrolyte layer. Thus, heat from the heater is transferred from a third substrate layer to the first solid electrolyte layer, and also to the reference electrode and the measurement electrode through the same first solid electrolyte layer. The reference electrode is covered with a reference gas introduction layer, formed of a porous body. The transference of heat from the heater to the reference electrode through the reference gas introduction layer is smaller than the transference of heat from the heater to the reference electrode through the first solid electrolyte layer on which the reference electrode is formed directly.
