  • Publication number: 20110001268
Abstract: The invention provides a natural fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin injection molding having an excellent ability to discharge static electricity. The natural fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin injection molding is obtained by injection-molding with using natural fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets as a molding feedstock containing natural fibers as reinforcing fibers, has a natural fiber content of from 20 to 60 wt %. The natural fibers have an average length of from 1.5 to 4.0 mm. The natural fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin injection molding has an electrostatic voltage half-life, as determined by the half-life measurement method specified in JIS L 1094, of less than 40 seconds.

  • Publication number: 20100230040
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing a continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin pellet are provided which can smoothly carry out a continuous drawing-out operation for a reinforcing fiber bundle (continuous fiber-reinforced resin strand). With respect to a terminal end of a reinforcing fiber bundle A of a roving package being exhausted and a front end of a reinforcing fiber bundle B of a new roving package, fiber quantity-halved end portions A1 and B1 each about half of the original fiber quantity are formed respectively, then reinforcing filaments in those fiber quantity-halved end portions are entangled by an air splicer to form an entangled portion C1, and reinforcing filaments in a portion downstream of the fiber quantity-halved end portion in the reinforcing fiber bundle B of the new roving package are entangled by an air splicer to form an entangled portion C2.

  • Publication number: 20100224309
Abstract: A manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand including spreaders that spread a reinforcing fiber bundle and are provided inside a crosshead to which a molten resin material is supplied continuously from an extruding machine, twisting rollers provided at a downstream position from an exit nozzle of the crosshead and that pultrude a fiber-reinforced resin strand formed of a resin-impregnated fiber bundle from the exit nozzle while imparting twists thereto, and twist retaining rollers provided at a downstream position from the twisting rollers and that retain twists of the fiber-reinforced resin strand. The twisting rollers and the twist retaining rollers are made of metal with asperities being formed on the surface thereof. The manufacturing apparatus can achieve excellent durability and is capable of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced resin strand at a high production rate without causing slipping.

  • Publication number: 20100136155
Abstract: There is provided a manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand equipped with a roller offset angle adjusting device which can easily adjust roller offset angles of a pair of twisting rollers for twisting a fiber-reinforced resin strand, the device being simple in structure. An offset angle of a first twisting roller 11 can be adjusted by only rotating a first shaft roller support member 20 in the roller offset angle adjusting device LA of the manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand around the axis of a first driving shaft 24 which is orthogonal to a first roller support shaft 11a of the first twisting roller 11. Likewise, an offset angle of a second twisting roller 12 can be adjusted by only rotating a second shaft • roller support member 30 around the axis of a second driving shaft 34 which is orthogonal to a second roller support shaft 12a of the second twisting roller 12.

  • Patent number: 5249427
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for cooling a coated wire including: preparing a water storage tank disposed between an extruder for coating a core wire with an insulating material and for feeding the coated wire forwardly, and a winder for winding the coated wire; and passing the coated wire before being wound through still water in the water storage tank thereby rapidly cooling the coated wire, the improvement comprising: preparing trough members disposed between the water storage tank and the extruder along the advance direction of the coated wire in such a manner as to cover the coated wire from the underside; and cooling the coated wire by water which is discharged to the trough members and is made to flow therein and thereafter passing the coated wire through the water storage tank. Using the above method, even in manufacture of an insulated wire having a coated outside diameter of 1 mm or less, it is possible to suppress the surface roughness of the coated wire in the degree of at least 1 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 5143448
Abstract: A two-shaft continuous mixing apparatus includes a housing containing two rotors having substantially horizontally aligned centerlines and a material passage formed so as to communicate with a mixing chamber in which the rotors rotate, the material passage extending nearly horizontally from a discharge port of the mixing chamber. The material passage has an upper surface forming an edge with the mixing chamber, and a lower surface forming an edge with the mixing chamber. The material is thereby scraped off the edges and flows through the material passage as the rotors are rotated.
