  • Patent number: 11971765
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein allow a configurable policy for managing Power over Ethernet (PoE) to be implemented by Power Sourcing Equipments (PSEs) across a network. The policy specifies a set of rules for prioritizing power distribution over Ethernet for the computer network. When Powered Devices (PDs) are connected via Ethernet cables to the PSEs, the PDs send identification information about themselves (e.g., device type and location) to the PSEs. The PSEs assign priority levels to the PDs by electronically comparing the identification information to the set of rules. When a present level of available power is insufficient to power all the PDs via PoE, the PSEs use the priority levels to determine which PDs to power down.

Abstract: In examples, a virtual channel allocated to a virtual machine may be used to transmit image data representing a display surface to memory assigned to the display surface in a virtual address space of the virtual machine. A physical display engine may be configured to fetch the image data from the memory, perform desired transformations, and send the resulting output to the display surface to display. Privileged software may process requests from virtual machines for allocations or configurations of display surfaces and configure the physical display engine, a memory system, and/or other system components accordingly. Software running on a virtual machine may use virtual channels to submit the requests and transmit image data for display surfaces to memory using the virtual address space. • Publication number: 20240037455
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for multi-task structural learning in artificial neural network in which both the architecture and its parameters are learned simultaneously. The method utilizes two neural operators, namely, neuron creation and neuron removal, to aid in structural learning. The method creates excess neurons by starting from a disparate network for each task. Through the progress of training, corresponding task neurons in a layer pave the way for a specialized group neuron leading to a structural change. In the task learning phase of training, different neurons specialize in different tasks. In the interleaved structural learning phase, locally similar task neurons, before being removed, transfer their knowledge to a newly created group neuron. The training is completed with a final fine-tuning phase where only the multi-task loss is used.

  • Publication number: 20230385111
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer-readable media for utilizing a new memory allocation function library called PmemMalloc. For example, the PmemMalloc library allocates pre-allocated, partitioned, and fixed shared memory blocks. In addition, by utilizing the PmemMalloc library, the memory allocation system described herein overcomes problems with persistence and enumeration that encumber existing malloc libraries. Indeed, the PmemMalloc library enables the memory allocation system to perform servicing computation in parallel across multiple CPU cores/threads, distribute computation equally among threads, prioritize servicing, among other improvements. Notably, the PmemMalloc library provides major constructs (e.g., persistence, enumeration, and debuggability) not available existing malloc libraries.
