  • Patent number: 9086179
Abstract: A quick coupling pipe fitting system is disclosed that connects two ends of two different pipes together in a fluid tight manner. It is designed for convenience in installation, high strength, compact size, easy manufacture with a low production cost, high efficiency and does not require the use of special tools for installation. The coupling utilizes a grab ring module that has a grab ring made with embedded stainless steel, thereby strengthening the fixing force and allowing for quick installation. A flaring surface on a retaining flange has an angle that corresponds to a tapering surface of the grab ring module. When the flaring surface and the tapering surface contact each other, the grab ring module compresses the surface of the pipe. Because the grab ring module has an outer plastic body with a small inner part, the grab ring module can be compressed to the pipe without causing fatigue of any members inside of the fitting. A specialized tool allows for quick and easy dismantling of the fitting.

  • Patent number: 6824172
Abstract: A pipe coupler for joining a pair of pipe sections in a fluid tight manner. A hollow connector has an internal chamber within which is to be located a pipe section. Surrounding the pipe section and mounted in conjunction with the connector is a coupler. The coupler includes a grab ring housing. Formed within the grab ring housing is an annular concavity. Mounted within this concavity is a grab ring which includes a plurality of pivotable biting members which are arranged to dig in the wall surface of the pipe section when the pipe section is longitudinally moved a limited withdrawing distance from the connector.

  • Patent number: 6186558
Abstract: A pipe fitting in the form of a male coupler and a female coupler both of which have imbedded therein a threaded metallic insert. Both the male coupler and female coupler have a metallic insert that is constructed to define a treacherous path at the surface boundary of the metal insert so as to minimize the possibility of any leakage exteriorly of the coupler from a liquid conducting bore passing through each of the couplers.

  • Patent number: 5957509
Abstract: A pipe coupling for joining separate segments of pipe together in a fluid tight manner. A connector is fixedly secured to one pipe section with a retaining nut being removably mounted on the remaining pipe section. A retaining nut is threadably secured to a spool section with this spool section being threadably secured to the connector. In between the retaining nut and the pipe section there is located a grab ring. This grab ring includes a plurality of biting members. The grab ring can either constitute a split ring or can comprise an annular base ring which is fixed in size which has a plurality of deflectable settings mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 5466019
Abstract: A pipe coupling for joining separate segments of pipe together in a fluid tight manner. A connector is fixedly secured to one pipe section with the retaining nut being movably mounted on the other pipe section. The retaining nut is to be threadably secured to the connector. In between the connector and the pipe section is located a sealing arrangement which includes a thin walled grip ring. This grip ring includes a plurality of biting members. When the retaining nut is tightened on the connector, these biting members imbed into the wall surface of the pipe section thereby longitudinally fixing the position of this pipe section relative to the connector and maintaining a fluid tight established relationship.
