  • Patent number: 9352490
Abstract: The invention relates to a method consisting in: inserting the coating (6) into a shaping and injection-molding mold (14); closing the mold (14) such that the coating (6) is shaped against a shaping surface (22) of the mold (14) as the mold (14) is closed; and, subsequently, overmolding the substrate (4) by injecting a plastic material into the mold (14). According to one aspect of the invention, the shaping surface (22) is induction-heated in order to thermoform the coating (6) as the mold (14) is closed, by generating induced currents that propagate along the shaping surface (22), and the induction heating is stopped in order to set the plastic material.

  • Publication number: 20110260359
Abstract: The invention relates to a compression mould for coating a rigid member that includes a male portion and a female portion each including a reception surface, respectively, of the member and of a coating layer. The surface has the shape of the member, one of the portions being movable so as to bear against the member and the coating layer in order to bind the coating layer to the member. A silicone-based coating is attached to one of the portions, wherein the coating is intended to bear against the member in order to apply a substantially uniform pressure on said member.

  • Publication number: 20100206467
Abstract: A method for coating a component with a thin layer of ligneous material, includes selecting a sheet of coating constituted at least partially by a thin layer of ligneous material intended to be visible in the finished component, coating the surface of the sheet with a thin layer of a transparent composition containing a synthetic resin, and fixing the coated sheet to the surface of the component. In the fixing step, the layer of composition deposited on the surface of the sheet has a resilience which is at least 5% greater, and preferably at least 10% greater, than that of the thin layer of ligneous material in all directions, and the composition layer is transparent so that the layer of ligneous material is visible through the layer of composition. A step of engraving the surface of transparent composition opposite the layer of ligneous material is advantageous after coating.
