  • Publication number: 20230276877
Abstract: A diving glove includes quilted material defining a plurality of pockets. Each of the pockets is filled with aerogel beads. The glove may be worn underneath a waterproof layer in a dry diving suit. The glove includes multiple seams dividing the pockets. The seams are located to maintain a distribution of beads across the glove that effectively insulates the wearer's hand and prevents the beads from impeding the wearer's manual dexterity. The glove includes a web portion extending across a back side of the fingers. The web portion can be used to create an enclosed space for insulating the wearer's fingers.

  • Publication number: 20220285571
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided for manufacturing nano-engineered thin-film thermoelectric (NETT) devices for photovoltaic applications, such as NETT converters that harness the coldness of space for satellite applications or for integration with terrestrial PV. An example method can include mounting a thin-film thermoelectric device to a photovoltaic device. The example method can further include mounting a heat sink device to the thin-film thermoelectric device. The example method can further include mounting a radiator device or heat exchanger device to the heat sink device.

  • Publication number: 20220255109
Abstract: A layered textile energy storage device can include first and second encasing layers, an anode, a cathode, and a flexible separator layer. The first and second encasing layers can each include a nylon fabric coated with a polyurethane. The anode can include a carbon fabric coated with anode active material, carbon nanotubes, and a binder material. The cathode can include a carbon fabric coated with cathode active material, carbon nanotubes, and a binder material. The flexible separator layer can be disposed between the anode and cathode to prevent internal shorting of the layered textile energy storage device. The anode, the cathode and the flexible separator layer can be disposed between the first and the second encasing layers.
