  • Patent number: 7413469
Abstract: An electrical connector including a housing having a mating interface and a contact interface configured to receive an end of a flexible printed circuit (FPC) having at least one row of FPC contacts, and contacts received in the housing and extending between the mating interface and the contact interface. Each of the contacts being configured to engage a corresponding one of the FPC contacts. An insert member is received within the housing. The insert member includes individual fingers moving independently with respect to one another, and the insert member is configured to be loaded into the housing to a mated position at which each of the fingers separately engage the FPC.

  • Patent number: 6881087
Abstract: A socket for an electronic package includes a cover and a base slidably joined with one another. A cam assembly drives the cover relative to the base between open and closed positions, and a bias element directly contacts the cam assembly to force the cam assembly to a fully open position when the cam assembly is moved from the closed position. The cam assembly is adapted for linear displacement relative to the base when actuated, and the bias element exerts a force on the cam assembly to locate the cover in the open position. The bias element is located between the cover and the base.

  • Patent number: 5807119
Abstract: A device (20) for coupling first and second electrical connectors (40,70) comprises a dielectric member having a plurality of openings (32) extending therethrough, a first portion (34) of the openings (32) being adapted to grip corresponding exposed body portions (68) of terminals (60) secured in a first connector (40), and a second portion (36) of the openings (32) being adapted to grip corresponding exposed body portions (98) of terminals (90) secured in a second connector (70). Upon placing the first and second connectors (40, 70) adjacent each other and positioning the openings (32) in gripping relationship with respective body portions (68, 98) of the terminals (60,90) of the first and second connectors (40,60), the device (20) mechanically secures together the first and second connectors (40, 70) adjacent each other.
