  • Patent number: 11816269
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices and non-transitory, computer-readable storage mediums are disclosed for gesture recognition for a wearable multimedia device using real-time data streams. In an embodiment, a method comprises: detecting a trigger event from one or more real-time data streams running on a wearable multimedia device; taking one or more data snapshots of the one or more real-time data streams; inferring user intent from the one or more data snapshots; and selecting a service or preparing content for the user based on the inferred user intent. In an embodiment, a hand and finger pointing direction is determined from a depth image, a 2D bounding box for the hand/finger is projected into a 2D image space and compared to bounding boxes for identified/labeled objects in the 2D image space to identify an object that the hand is holding or the finger is pointing toward.

  • Patent number: 10564714
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for discerning the intent of a device wearer primarily based on movements of the eyes. The system may be included within unobtrusive headwear that performs eye tracking and controls screen display. The system may also utilize remote eye tracking camera(s), remote displays and/or other ancillary inputs. Screen layout is optimized to facilitate the formation and reliable detection of rapid eye signals. The detection of eye signals is based on tracking physiological movements of the eye that are under voluntary control by the device wearer. The detection of eye signals results in actions that are compatible with wearable computing and a wide range of display devices.

  • Publication number: 20150103184
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel solution that enables mobile devices to continuously track interesting subjects by creating dynamic visual models that can be used to detect and track subjects in-real time through total occlusion or even if a subject temporarily leaves the mobile device's field of view. Additionally, embodiments of the present invention use an online learning scheme that dynamically adjusts tracking procedures responsive to any appearance and/or environmental changes associated with an interesting subject that may occur over a period of time. In this manner, embodiments of the present invention can determine a more optimal focus position that allows movement by either the mobile device or the subject during the performance of auto-focusing procedures and also enables other camera parameters to properly calibrate (meter) themselves based on the focus position determined.

  • Publication number: 20140111670
Abstract: A system and method for image capture. The method includes configuring an image sensor to capture at a full resolution of the image sensor and automatically capturing a first image with the image sensor irrespective of a shutter button of a camera. The method further includes receiving an image capture request and accessing a second image after the receiving of the image capture request. The first image is captured prior to the receiving of the image capture request. The first image and the second image may then be stored.

  • Patent number: 8601765
Abstract: Components of a modular component system are disclosed. A representative component has, at a first side, a first channel for receiving a connector and, at a second side, a second channel for receiving a connector. The first channel extends inwardly from an outer edge of the first side and in cross-section has a body portion which extends from an opening in the component in a direction generally parallel to the first side and a head portion which extends outwardly of the body portion. The second channel extends inwardly from an outer edge of the second side and in cross-section has a body portion which extends from an opening in the component in a direction generally parallel to the second side and a head portion which extends outwardly of the body portion.
