Patent number: 11991658Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for training and deploying machine-learned communication over RF channels. In some implementations, information is obtained. An encoder network is used to process the information and generate a first RF signal. The first RF signal is transmitted through a first channel. A second RF signal is determined that represents the first RF signal having been altered by transmission through the first channel. Transmission of the first RF signal is simulated over a second channel implementing a machine-learning network, the second channel representing a model of the first channel. A simulated RF signal that represents the first RF signal having been altered by simulated transmission through the second channel is determined. A measure of distance between the second RF signal and the simulated RF signal is calculated. The machine-learning network is updated using the measure of distance.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2022Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: DeepSig Inc.Inventors: Timothy J. Publication number: 20240125192Abstract: A regulator valve has a check valve manifold for use in subsea control circuits. For example, the regulator valve having the check valve manifold can be used in a circuit between a directional control valve and an actuator for a gate valve. The check valve manifold can have a flange that attaches to the regulator valve to communicate with the supply-side and outlet-side of the regulator valve. Internal communication inside the manifold includes a check valve. If the pressure in the circuit downstream of the regulator valve needs to be vented, the check valve can open to allow the pressure to bleed from the outlet-side back to the supply-side without needing to pass through the internal pressure control valve of the regulator.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Chris ROY, Frank Harold HOLLISTER, Nathan ZEPEDA, Robert E. Patent number: 11710330Abstract: Systems and methods for managing content provenance are provided. A network system accesses a plurality of documents. The plurality of documents is then hashed to identify one or more content features within each of the documents. In one embodiment, the hash is a MinHash. The network system compares the content features of each of the plurality of documents to determine a similarity score between each of the plurality of documents. In one embodiment, the similarly score is a Jaccard score. The network system then clusters the plurality of documents into one or more clusters based on the similarity score of each of the plurality of documents. In one embodiment, the clustering is performed using DBSCAN. DBSCAN can be iteratively performed with decreasing epsilon values to derive clusters of related but relatively dissimilar documents. The clustering information associated with the clusters are stored for use during runtime.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2019Date of Patent: July 25, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Nathan Roy Evans, Christopher Miles White, Jonathan Karl Larson, Darren Keith Edge

Patent number: 11341761Abstract: Systems and methods for managing content provenance are provided. A network system accesses a document of a plurality of documents to be analyzed. The network system extracts text fragments from the document including a first fragment and a second fragment. A determination is made whether each of the text fragments match an entry in a hash table. Based on a first fragment not matching any entries in the hash table, the network system creates a new entry in the hash table, whereby the first fragment is used to generate a key in the hash table. Based on a second fragment matching an entry of the hash table, the network system associates the document with a key of the matching entry in the hash table, whereby the associating comprising updating the hash table with an identifier of the document.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2019Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Nathan Roy Evans, Christopher Miles White, Jonathan Karl Larson, Darren Keith Edge

Patent number: 10009726Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product for performing hybrid location monitoring of a mobile device. While performing region monitoring for a set of regions, a mobile device enters a first region. Upon entering a region, the mobile device requests region information for the region from a web server. Using the region information, the mobile device determines whether to enable location updates while within the region. Upon exiting the region, the mobile device determines whether to disable location updates. While performing location updates, the location of the mobile device can be tracked and be determined to be within other contained or partially contained irregularly shaped geofences.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2016Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: PING4 INC.Inventors: Sean Nathan Roy, Kurt Alfred Dobbins, Mark Thomas Sexton, Sett Paing Oo, Rindress Andrew MacDonald, Tatsuki Nakano, Daniel Willis Post, Mohamed Jamal Fadlalla

Publication number: 20160240102Abstract: A system for enhanced learning that combines tactile surfaces and audio recordings, allowing the user to explore a 3-dimensional object through touch while also hearing pre-recorded audio explaining regions or features of interest. One of a collection of 3-dimensional tactile modules is used with the system at a given time. When a tactile module is inserted into the system (or otherwise connected) by the user, the system automatically recognizes the inserted module, locates the set of audio recordings and region maps associated with that tactile module, and then plays module-specific audio recordings. As the user explores the tactile surface, the system is continually alert for a signal from the user that he/she would like to know more about a particular feature or sub-region of the surface. When such a signal is detected, the system automatically plays a specific audio recording containing information associated with that region of the tactile surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2015Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventors: Vikram BARR, Zachary Koung, Andrew POWELL, Nathan ROY
