Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for creating topic neighborhoods and a visualization for related topic neighborhoods in a networked system are disclosed. The apparatus, in an example embodiment, includes a neighborhood generator configured to receive user input that identifies of a topic for association with a neighborhood; create a neighborhood in association with the identified topic; gather neighborhood information using the identified topic as a search term to search from sources including information related to the topic; automatically invite users to join the created neighborhood; and provide access to the neighborhood via a neighborhood visualization on a webpage.

Abstract: The present invention is a system for and method to collect, calculate, and display user feedback ratings in an online transaction processing (OLTP) environment. The invention utilizes a client, a network, a Web site host system, and rule-based decision making, to 1) enable users and other systems to submit transaction performance information for a buyer or seller; 2) enable users to view transaction performance information; and 3) enable users to view detailed transaction performance measures for buyers or sellers within specific performance categories. Rating the transaction performance of users of an OLTP environment can serve to improve users' trust in the OLTP environment, improve the reputation of online trading venues, and increase the value of these venues.

The item is then identified. In some embodiments, the item is identified by determining at least one catalog item that matches an identifying feature of the item, providing a verification request indicating the at least one catalog item, and receiving a verification response confirming the identity of the item. An inventory list is compiled by including the identified item in the inventory list.
