Patent number: 10830275Abstract: A breakaway joint for a boom arm assembly includes a first boom segment defining a pivot axis at a first end, a second boom segment pivotally coupled to the first boom segment at the pivot axis, a bracket coupled to the first boom segment, a leaf spring coupled to the bracket between the first boom segment and the second boom segment, and a cam coupled to the second boom segment and positioned adjacent to the leaf spring. The first boom segment and the second boom segment are pivotally aligned in a neutral position. In the neutral position, the leaf spring contacts the cam at a first contact force, and in any position other than the neutral position, the leaf spring contacts the cam at a contact force greater than the first contact force.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2019Date of Patent: November 10, 2020Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Nathan Tortorella, Sankaran Subramaniam, Gregory S. McCunn, Jonathan J. Nelson, Gregory E. Peterson, Andrew E. DePriest, Richard J. Chowaniec, Jr.

Publication number: 20180345302Abstract: A dispensing nozzle is disclosed herein. The dispensing nozzle includes a hollow enclosure defining an inner chamber. A fluid dispersion element is arranged within the inner chamber and includes a fluid inlet having at least two orifices that respectively open into and communicate with an associated fluid dispersion channel. Each fluid dispersion channel has a reduced cross section from that of the fluid inlet and are arranged to disperse flow of materials received at the fluid inlet into parallel streams of flow prior to recombination of the materials at the nozzle outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2017Publication date: December 6, 2018Inventors: Ali Tayh, Nathan Tortorella, Ryan M. Gneiting, Jared Morrison, Thomas M. Campen, Daniel J. Cox

Publication number: 20070004864Abstract: A polypropylene composition and a method to prepare the composition. The method includes the mixing and extrusion of an isotactic polypropylene, at least one impact modifying polymer, at least one primary co-agent that is a monofunctional monomer, at least one secondary co-agent which is a multifunctional monomer, oligomer, or polymer, and a radical initiator. The composition may be prepared in an extruder. The resulting composition has improved impact strength properties as compared to isotactic polypropylene and isotactic impact modifying polymer blends. The resulting composition may be used in a variety of forms such as extrusions, injection or blow-molded products, films, non-woven fabrics, or thermoformed products.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 23, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Applicant: University of Florida Research FoundationInventors: Charles Beatty, Nathan Tortorella
