Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for displaying uncertified data for aircraft operations. The method comprises receiving certified data for aircraft operations. The certified data is provided by devices and software applications that have a predetermined acceptable degree of accuracy. Additionally, uncertified data is received for aircraft operations and the uncertified data is provided by devices and software applications that have an undetermined degree of accuracy. A display is created of the certified data for a display device that is used by an aircraft crewmember of an aircraft. Additionally, a display is created of the uncertified data for the display device. The certified data display is overlayed with the uncertified data display on the display device to create a combined data display. The uncertified data is clearly indicated on the combined data display.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for assisting operation of a vehicle using speech recognition. One method involves identifying a user-configured speech recognition performance setting value selected from among a plurality of speech recognition performance setting values, selecting a speech recognition model configuration corresponding to the user-configured speech recognition performance setting value from among a plurality of speech recognition model configurations, where each speech recognition model configuration of the plurality of speech recognition model configurations corresponds to a respective one of the plurality of speech recognition performance setting values, and recognizing an audio input as an input state using the speech recognition model configuration corresponding to the user-configured speech recognition performance setting value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for indicating communication effectiveness with air traffic control (ATC) are disclosed. The method includes: receiving a transcribed message containing a plurality of words used by an ownship flight crew member in a communication directed to ATC; determining a message intent of the transcribed message from the words used in the communication; identifying a plurality of ideal words that should be used for an ideal message having the same message intent as the transcribed message; comparing the words used in the communication with the words that should have been used in the ideal message; determining based on the comparing whether the words used in the communication conformed to ATC standard phraseology (e.g., ICAO Pilot communication vocabulary); generating an indicator for flight crew that indicates whether the words used in the communication conformed to ATC standard phraseology; and signaling an aircraft display device to display the indicator.

Abstract: Disclosed is a flight deck system comprising a controller for displaying message content from an ATC conversation. The controller is configured to: receive extracted message content from a plurality of messages; and generate a ticker tape graphical element having a first panel and a second panel for display as an overlay over a primary display on an aircraft display device. The first panel has a main panel for displaying message content for a most recently received message and one or more subsidiary panels for displaying message content for up to a first predetermined number of the most recently received messages. The second panel has a bookmark main panel for displaying message content for a second predetermined number of the most recently received bookmarked messages and one or more bookmark subsidiary panels for displaying message content for a third predetermined number of the most recently received bookmarked messages.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for displaying transcriptions of radio communication transcription for an aircraft. The method comprises capturing audio signals of radio communication traffic to and from the aircraft. The captured audio signals are preprocessed to divide the signals into independent spoken utterances. Each spoken utterance is transcribed using a speech recognition decoder that utilizes an air traffic control (ATC) speech recognition model and classification data is extracted from the transcription of each spoken utterance. The transcription of each spoken utterance is logged with reference to the classification data and a textual display of the transcription is provided to a crew member of the aircraft.

Then the processor may alter the format of the visual representation of the airspace to a second visual representation, if the airspace data meets predetermined criteria.
