  • Publication number: 20240135404
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for electronically managing coupons. The user no longer has to clip and organize coupons. The need for hand processing of coupons is substantially reduced. Rebates or payments for coupons can be substantially hastened and can be deposited directly into a user's bank, credit card, or payment provider account. Merchants and manufactures no longer have to be concerned with receiving bad (e.g., invalid, expired, or counterfeit) coupons. Thus, the electronic coupon management system benefits the users, merchants, and manufactures.

  • Patent number: 11935059
Abstract: Described herein are techniques and systems directed to using context data provided by supplemental devices to reduce false declines during transaction authorization. In some embodiments, upon a transaction being declined based on a level of risk associated with the transaction, a service provider may obtain context data from a number of supplemental devices associated with a user, resource provider, location, or other suitable factor. This context data may then be assessed by the service provider to determine a degree to which the context data supports that the user conducting the transaction is the owner of the account used to conduct the transaction. The level of risk may then be adjusted based on that degree and the adjusted level of risk is used to determine whether to approve or decline the transaction.

  • Patent number: 11647048
Abstract: A method is disclosed. A server computer may receive, from a client computer, a first rule comprising one or more variables, the first rule configured to predict that an event is either a first classification or a second classification. The server computer applies the first rule to an initial data set of events to identify events that are associated with the first classification. The server computer evaluates performance of the first rule. The server computer provides data relating to the performance of the first rule to the client computer. The client computer automatically evaluates the performance of the first rule and generates a second rule in response to the data relating to the performance of the first rule. The server computer may then evaluate the second rule and provide performance data to the client computer. The server computer may use equi-height histograms to evaluate the performance of the rules.

  • Patent number: 11631020
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods for estimating validation time that use an estimation of the amount of data fulfilling a rule or a set of rules. This estimation method may be more accurate because it considers how much data will match the rule versus how much data can be discarded. The disclosed systems and methods give visibility into how much time a rule set validation will take and how long the computer system will be unavailable due to the rule set being evaluated. This allows users to make better decisions about whether and when a rule set should be evaluated, and/or whether and how to modify implementation of the rule set.

  • Publication number: 20230104208
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes, receiving, with at least one processor, payment transaction data, extracting, using the at least one processor, catastrophic event data from a network, generating, with the at least one processor, a catastrophic event score based on the payment transaction data and the catastrophic event data, and adjusting financial fraud rules used to decline or approve financial transactions. The financial fraud rules may be adjusted by adding a catastrophic event threshold to the financial fraud rules that utilize the catastrophic event score to determine whether a financial transaction is fraudulent.

  • Publication number: 20230027202
Abstract: Provided are computer-implemented methods for authenticating a mobile device based on a real-time mobile device application profile which may include generating, with a mobile device application on a mobile device, a real-time mobile device application profile associated with the mobile device, receiving the mobile device application profile by the mobile device; and determining whether there is an anomaly between the real-time mobile device application profile and a historical mobile device application profile associated with the mobile device. The methods may also include performing a remedial action associated with a transaction based on determining that there is an anomaly between the real-time mobile device application profile and the historical mobile device application profile. Systems and computer program products are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220319283
Abstract: Described are a system, method, and computer program product for real-time automated teller machine (ATM) fraud detection and prevention. The method includes receiving transaction data of a plurality of transactions in real-time during processing at a transaction service provider system. The method further includes storing the transaction data in a distributed cache and receiving a transaction request for a user transaction at an ATM using a payment device. The method further includes modifying a profile of ATM activity stored in the distributed cache and comparing at least one metric of the profile to at least one predetermined ATM activity threshold. The method further includes activating a fraud prevention operation before the user transaction is completed at the ATM, including declining the user transaction, disabling a transaction account, communicating an alert to an issuer, or any combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20220012737
Abstract: A transaction server receives a request from a POS device of a merchant. The server determines whether a merchant ID in the request matches with one stored in a database. If yes, the server automatically amends a first field with a predetermined secondary value associated with the merchant ID and updating a total in a second field as a sum of the value of the transaction and the predetermined secondary value. The server processes the request as a single request with the total in the second field. In one embodiment, if no, the server monitors subsequent streams of requests having the encrypted account and the merchant ID. Once identified, the server amends the first field with the subsequent value and updating the total in the message field as a sum of the value of the transaction and the subsequent value and processes the electronic transaction request as the single request.
