  • Patent number: 11956518
Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for providing additional information associated with an object visually present in live media content. Live media content is acquired with a video capture system and displayed in an injection tool having a display and a grid dividing the display into a plurality of zones. The subject invention defines object images for any object that may be visually present in the live media, selects one or more of the zones where the object is visually present and associates the selected zones and the object image. An object injection time is defined and a live element parameter is defined as including the object injection time, the selected zones and the object image. Next, a package update is created that includes the live element parameter and the package update is delivered to the viewer device and the initial portable package is updated with the live element parameter.

  • Publication number: 20240019257
Abstract: A system for providing navigational guidance through an environment is provided that includes a vehicle, a processing device, a memory, a transceiver module, a sensor module, and a camera system. The system determines a location of the vehicle by communicating with at least two external transmitting devices and determines the location of the vehicle by using multilateration. The system also utilizes the camera system to detect objects in the environment via object recognition and classifies the detected objects according to characteristics of the objects, as well as locating the object in the environment. The system utilizes the location of the vehicle and the detected objects for making navigation decisions.

  • Publication number: 20240022784
Abstract: A system and method for enabling interactive content for objects appearing in media content captured through an image capture device of a user device is disclosed. A portable package associated with the media content is provided to receive interactive elements corresponding to the objects and object metadata. The media content is associated with an identifiable feature that is present and identified from within a field of view of the image capture device. A request is received for the portable package associated with the media content and the portable package is delivered to the user device based on the request. Next, a selection event is received and the portable package is parsed to determine whether the selection event corresponds to any interactive element. Object metadata is retrieved if the selection event corresponds to the interactive element so that the additional information is displayable to the user on the user device.

  • Patent number: 11425535
Abstract: A method of navigating a vehicle with an electronic device using bilateration to a desired location is disclosed. The method includes the steps of receiving, with an electronic device, a plurality of signals emitted from a plurality of transmitting devices within a vicinity of the electronic device and determining a signal quality for the signals that are received based on 1) a RSSI or 2) a received signal power and a received signal gain, and signal propagation characteristics based on transmitting device information. The signal propagation characteristics is compared with either 1) the RSSI or 2) the received signal power and the received signal gain and at least two of the signals are designated having a highest signal quality, and are used to determine a distance that the electronic device is from the transmitting devices for locating the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11265682
Abstract: A method for determining a location of an electronic device using bilateration is disclosed. The electronic device receives a plurality of signals emitted from a plurality of transmitting devices within a vicinity of the electronic device. A signal quality is determined for the plurality of signals that are received based on 1) a received signal strength indicator or 2) a received signal power and a received signal gain, and signal propagation characteristics based on transmitting device information that comprise manufacturer and type of transmitting device. At least two of the plurality of signals are designated as having highest signal quality by combining the signal propagation characteristics with either 1) the received signal strength indicator or 2) the received signal power and the received signal gain. A distance that the electronic device is from the transmitting devices is determined using the two highest signal quality signals for locating the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11032626
Abstract: A system and method for providing additional information associated with an object visually present in media content when interacted with by a user on a user device is disclosed. An authoring tool imports media content at a default resolution and the media content is scaled so that the authoring tool and media content have a 1:1 correspondence for a coordinate grid to create interactive elements. The interactive elements are defined by element parameters. A portable package is created and distributed that includes the default resolution and element parameters. A request is received from the user device for the portable package along with device information. The portable package and the media content are delivered to the user device based on the request. A selection event is received and the element parameters are scaled based on the device information to determine if the selection event corresponds to the interactive element.

  • Patent number: 10966060
Abstract: A method of determining a location, using bilateration, of an electronic device that is spaced from transmitting devices is disclosed. The electronic device receives first and second signals of the same or different signal type from first and second transmitting devices, respectively, with an antenna. The electronic device determines a signal quality of each signal based on: 1) a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) or a received signal power and a received signal gain, and 2) signal propagation characteristics specific for the transmitting devices. The signals with the two highest signal qualities are used for location determination. The distance from the transmitting devices can be determined based on one or more of: a received signal power and signal gain for both signals, a transmitted power and signal gain of both signals, or location information associated with the transmitting devices.
