  • Publication number: 20140367500
Abstract: A food grater having a cutting with a proximal end and a distal end and a midline has a plurality of teeth thrilled on the cutting surface. The plurality of teeth each have a cutting edge and form a plurality of rows of teeth positioned between the proximal end and the distal end of the cutting surface. The cutting edges of the teeth and the rows of teeth are configured to urge a food item towards the midline of the cutting surface when the food item is engaged with the cutting surface and moved in contact with the cutting surface in a cutting direction from the proximal end to the distal end of the cutting surface.

  • Publication number: 20140319862
Abstract: There is provided a pair of tongs for grasping items comprising a pair of gripping ends, having a silicone and/or plastic exterior surface, where a first of the pair of gripping ends further comprises a set of metal teeth projecting toward the second of the pair of gripping ends. Each of the first and second of the pair of gripping ends may comprises a body core at least partially covered by a (silicone) coating. In one embodiment, teeth are embedded within a plastic core. In another, the core comprises a metal frame from which the teeth project. The set of teeth may be spaced from a periphery of the gripping end. The second of the pair of gripping ends may also comprise metal teeth projecting toward the first of the pair of gripping ends.

  • Publication number: 20140227418
Abstract: The present invention provides a dual purpose roasting rack having opposed arms mounted to a roasting rack which are movable between two configurations. In the first configuration, the arms are substantially parallel to the base and food may be mounted on the roasting rack apparatus in a horizontal orientation. In the second configuration, the opposed arms sit substantially upright relative to the base and cooperate to enable food, such as poultry, to be cooked in a vertical orientation. The opposed arms may rotate between the two configurations and may interlock together while in the second configuration.

  • Publication number: 20140224911
Abstract: This invention relates to a food processors and specifically to flexible blades for food processors. Disclosed is a rotatable, flexible cutting blade and a food processing apparatus using a rotatable, flexible cutting blade. The rotatable, flexible cutting blade is connected to a food processor drive mechanism and is comprised of one or more blade arms. The blade arms comprise a blade and a flexible portion where the flexible portion connects the blade to the drive mechanism via mechanical means. The blade arms start in a first position away from the plane orthogonal to the axis of rotation of the rotatable, flexible cutting blade. When the rotatable, flexible cutting blade is rotated at sufficient speeds, centrifugal forces cause the blades to move away from their first position. As the rotation slows, the blades return to their first position.
