  • Patent number: 11667149
Abstract: Wheel center caps and related methods are disclosed herein. An example wheel center cap includes a body, a first protrusion extending radially outward from the body, and a second protrusion extending radially outward from the body. The first and second protrusions define a gap therebetween. The example wheel center cap includes a leg disposed in the gap and coupled to the body. The leg includes a foot. The foot extends radially outward relative to the body. The foot includes a chamfered face facing away from the body.

  • Publication number: 20210302258
Abstract: A method of determining a balancing solution for a rotating body that includes a wheel or wheel/tire assembly may include receiving balance parameters defining measured imbalance associated with the rotating body and receiving a set of constraints. At least one of the constraints may define a non-zero target correction of one of the balance parameters. The method may further include determining, via a selected optimization strategy, the balancing solution defining a correction to apply to the rotating body to achieve corrected balance parameters meeting the set of constraints.

  • Publication number: 20180304677
Abstract: A system for connecting a vehicle wheel attachment includes one or more threaded inserts each having an exteriorly threaded surface adapted to mate with a wheel hub central interiorly threaded bore. The wheel hub central interior threaded bore may be fabricated of a first material and the one or more threaded inserts may be fabricated of a second material that is different from the first material. The threaded inserts include an interiorly threaded surface adapted to mate with an exteriorly threaded flange carried by the vehicle wheel attachment. The threaded inserts may include an exteriorly threaded surface defining a same or a different exterior diameter from other threaded inserts, and may also include an interiorly threaded surface defining a same or a different interior diameter from other threaded inserts. Methods for connecting a wheel attachment to a wheel hum using the described system are provided.

  • Patent number: 9932075
Abstract: A spare wheel assembly includes a spare-wheel cap having a core, and raised fins radially extending from the core toward a perimeter of the cap to form a cross and configured to provide gripping portions for rotating the cap. The spare wheel assembly further includes an ornament-removal tool having a handle and a longitudinal member extending therefrom. Some of the fins define recesses configured to receive and retain the handle and member to removably secure the tool to the cap.
