  • Publication number: 20230415850
Abstract: An electric motor bicycle system with an electric motor driven gear adapted to drive a wheel gear coupled to a bicycle hub. The motor driven gear is coupled to the wheel gear with a chain. The chain may be tensioned with one or more tensioners, which allow for a tighter system geometry. The motor may be supported with a bracket adapted to mount to industry standard disc brake mounting interfaces. In some aspects, the motor driven gear is coupled to the disc mounting interface of a wheel hub. In some aspects, the electric motor bicycle system may also have a disc brake system integrated therein.

  • Patent number: 11472295
Abstract: A regenerative braking energy dissipater system which is adapted to dissipate energy from a regenerative brake in the case when the battery cannot accept further energy. The system may switch the energy flow from the battery to a dissipater when the battery has reached a high level of charge. The dissipater may include load resistors. The system may be designed such that the airflow around the dissipater flows over and under the dissipating plate.

  • Patent number: 11286017
Abstract: An adjustable hand brake lever assembly for a proportional electric braking system for a bicycle or other vehicle. The brake lever assembly may include a sensor assembly which is adapted for use with a standard brake lever assembly as used with mechanical cable braking systems. The sensor assembly may be replaced as a unit. The sensor assembly is adapted to allow for setting the reach adjustment, allowing a user to set a preferred initial position. The adjustable brake lever assembly may be coupled to a control electronic module and a regenerative braking system on a bicycle.

  • Patent number: 10850801
Abstract: A pedal-electric bicycle utilizes an e-clutch to prevent a motor of the pedal-electric bicycle that is fixedly engaged to a drivetrain of the pedal-electric bicycle from resisting movement of the drivetrain when the motor is not transferring power to the drivetrain. The e-clutch causes the motor to operate at a minimum torque level to overcome the internal resistance thereof. The use of an e-clutch beneficially permits the elimination of a mechanical motor clutch, thus reducing complexity, cost, and weight of the pedal-electric bicycle.

  • Publication number: 20140106200
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a battery contact for providing electrical contact between a battery cell and a circuit board. Such contact may include: a tab made at least in part from an electrically conductive material, formed with: a mounting section to provide an electrical connection to the circuit board; a flexible section; and a contact section; and a compressive spring configured to push the contact section away from the mounting section and against an end of a battery cell. The contact may be made at least in part from a strip of an conductive material having two ends, and the contact section may include the two ends of the strip with a gap there-between. The contact may be configured to prevent distortion or warping during a soldering or welding process. For example, the mounting section may be configured with a convex curve.

  • Publication number: 20050057018
Abstract: A bicycle rear suspension of the type where the crank set is mounted on the swingarm. The swingarm is connected to the main frame by a set of pivoting links that downwardly converge. The links produce an instant center of rotation for the swingarm that moves in a rearward path. The rearward path starts from horizontally forward of the crank center and moves to be approximately horizontally in line with the crank center. This reduces the vertical movement of the cranks as the suspension is compressed.

  • Patent number: 5860175
Abstract: A portable cot that consists of a tubular framework that supports a cloth bed on the perimeter. The framework and bed is suspended from above by hanging webbing. The tubular members of the framework are connected together by hinges that allow the framework to folded into a small bundle of tubes. The hinges and webbing are arranged so that framework is locked into a rigid bed when weighted and yet is allowed to fold when unweighted.
