  • Patent number: 10590659
Abstract: A pre-finished insulated panel system for cladding an exterior wall of a building, the system comprising: rectangular panels each with an insulation core and weather resistant coating defining a central portion with a panel thickness between an inside mounting surface and an exposed outside surface, the plurality of panels adapted for engagement in a series of parallel rows; each panel having: a mounting flange disposed on the top edge and on a first lateral edge of each panel, the mounting flange including: a recessed mounting groove; an inner ridge; and an outer ridge; an elongate cover flange complementary with the mounting flange disposed on the bottom edge and on an opposing second lateral edge, the cover flange including: an inner groove complementary to the inner ridge; and an outer groove complementary to the outer ridge; and mechanical fasteners within the recessed mounting groove and anchoring to the wall.

  • Patent number: 6253510
Abstract: The invention relates to a lightweight gypsum coated decorative moulding, for installation on an interior building surface. The moulding is lightweight and flexible enough to withstand handling without cracking of the finished gypsum surface of the moulding. A gypsum coated surface is advantageous in that: fire resistance is enhanced; the moulding can be painted and repaired easily; and liquid gypsum compound can be used as an adhesive to install the lightweight moulding without mechanical fasteners or other support. Bevel joints can be cut with standard carpentry tools and the joints can be secured with liquid gypsum compound as well. The use of liquid gypsum compound as an adhesive and finishing coat ensures accurate fitting and finishing of joints as well as ease of repair. The moulding has an elongate foam core of a resilient expanded polystyrene foam solid, having a cross-sectional profile proportionately smaller than the desired cross-sectional profile of the finished decorative moulding.

  • Patent number: 5987835
Abstract: A method of cladding a building wall surface with individual prefabricated panels and trim mouldings with any fasteners and joints between the panels and trim being covered on site with a coating of stucco to produce a flush finished stucco surface. Each panel has a uniform transverse cross-sectional profile, and a core of foam material coated with a weatherproof stucco coating on its exterior surface. Tongue and groove joints are disposed along the longitudinal surfaces and a longitudinal recess in the exterior surface adjacent each tongue and groove joint is adapted to receive a layer of joint coating to fill the recess and cover the longitudinal joints flush with the external surface. The wall surface is installed by cutting the elongate cladding panels to the approximate length of the wall and mounting the cladding panels temporarily to the wall substrate, such as plywood for example.

  • Patent number: 5672391
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an elongated decorative molding having a decorative surface and a desired cross-sectional profile is provided. A first coating material is applied to a molded core and then the molded core is passed through the opening of a first die. Once hardened, the coated profile is again coated with a second coating material and then passed through a second die.
