  • Patent number: 5213165
Abstract: A multi-section, foldable land plane is foldable between a relatively narrow, transportable position, and a wider, deployed position for leveling field irregularities. A central, wheeled frame is adapted to be drawn by a conventional tractor. The frame, constructed of a network of tubular steel members, supports a pair of lateral wings which can be selectively folded and unfolded over the central frame. Folding of the wings is controlled by a system of hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic cylinders are coupled to pivotal cam arms that control upward and outward rotation of the wings relative to the frame. A deflection compensation system insures proper wing movement during movements. An automatically actuated locking system prevents undesired deflection of the wings during operation. The locking system is activated by a second pair of hydraulic cylinders that control a master locking position that is linked to remote, slave locking positions by an elongated synchronizer.

  • Patent number: 5035675
Abstract: A rotor for a rotary threshing combine which is readily adjustable to provide a great variety of threshing patterns to suit the particular crops and conditions of use. The rotor drum has a plurality of mounting lugs affixed thereto in an array that includes longitudinal, circumferential, and helical rows. A variety of differently shaped threshing elements, each designed for efficient operation under particular conditions, is provided and said elements are selectively and interchangeably and releasably connectable to the mounting lugs.

  • Patent number: 4248249
Abstract: An axial flow combine having a crop harvesting header including a feeder for cutting a crop and feeding it rearwardly into a threshing and separating mechanism. The mechanism includes a casing for receiving the crop material and a rotor within the casing for threshing and separating grain from the crop material. The rotor has a central drive shaft driven through a gear case behind the rotor. The gear case is partially enclosed within a cover having a smooth exterior surface. The end of the rotor is configured in a smooth exterior surface which is complementary to the surface of the cover to inhibit collection of chaff about the drive shaft. Impeller blades are secured on the rotor for creating an air flow directing crop material away from the drive shaft to prevent crop material wrapping about the shaft or accumulating in the drive system.

  • Patent number: 4244380
Abstract: An axial flow combine having a crop harvesting header including a feeder for cutting a crop and feeding it rearwardly into a threshing and separating mechanism. The mechanism includes a casing for receiving the crop material and a rotor within the casing for threshing and separating grain from the crop material. A plurality of crop material directing vanes is disposed within the casing and cooperate with the rotor in directing the material generally helically along the casing. Means are included for selectively and simultaneously adjusting the position of the vanes to change the rate of movement of the crop material through the casing.

  • Patent number: 3982548
Abstract: A general purpose rasp bar carrying rotor construction for an axial flow-type harvester combine embodying a vaned impeller and a series of bars which cooperate with elements within the surrounding rotor casing for crop threshing and grain separation purposes in a novel and efficient manner. The rotor proper is generally of imperforate tubular cylindrical construction so that the crop material in its entirety is confined to the annulus which exists between the rotor and its casing. The threshing portion of the rotor having both helical and longitudinal extending rasp bars.
