Publication number: 20210045712Abstract: Described herein is an apparatus and method for attaching an ultrasound imaging device to a user. The apparatus includes a holster with a cradle for receiving at least a portion of the imaging device and a strap attachable to the cradle to secure the probe in the holster. In some embodiments, the strap extends diagonally across a portion of the imaging device when the imaging device is the holster. The strap may be formed of a flexible material while the cradle is formed of a rigid material. A width of the strap may decrease in an outwardly direction, from a first end of the strap to a second end of the strap.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2020Publication date: February 18, 2021Applicant: Butterfly Network, Inc.Inventors: Matthew de Jonge, Neil Ferrier, Kevin Coss

Publication number: 20130250231Abstract: An enhanced performance earstem for eyeglasses is provided that can incorporate one or more flex zones or points along the length of the earstem. In some embodiments, the earstem can comprise an elongate body having an anterior end and a posterior end and at least a first segment and a second segment on the body having a first flex zone or point disposed at least partially therebetween. A center of the first flex zone or point can be within a given range from the anterior end. Further, some embodiments can provide differential flexibility along the length of the earstem. For example, the body of the earstem can have plurality of relatively flexible zones, and each flexible zone can be separated from an adjacent flexible zone by a relatively rigid zone. In this regard, the relatively flexible zones can have different stiffnesses.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2013Publication date: September 26, 2013Applicant: Oakley, Inc.Inventors: Peter K. Yee, Neil Ferrier, Steven Ogren, Carlos D. Reyes

Patent number: 8534830Abstract: An eyeglass is provided that can comprise a frame, a lens, and at least one retention component that can secure the lens relative to the frame. The frame can be configured to support at least one lens in a field of view of a wearer. The frame can include a first ear stem and a second ear stem that allows the frame to be worn on the wearer's head. The at least one retention component can be supported by the frame and/or the lens and can be movable or fixed relative to the frame and/or the lens. The retention component can engage an engagement portion of the frame and/or the lens for preventing the lens from separating from the frame in response to a ballistic event.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2012Date of Patent: September 17, 2013Assignee: Oakley, Inc.Inventors: Aaron Taylor, Jason Belbey, Jeremy Hadden, Neil Ferrier, Carlos D. Patent number: 6461115Abstract: A suction chamber for use in a pumping system has a motor and a pump. The suction chamber is positioned between the motor and the pump in the pumping system and has a seal assembly. The seal assembly seals the shaft to prevent fluid from leaking through a motor end of the suction chamber. The seal assembly may be removed and replaced through the pump, or wet end of the suction chamber so that any parts, including thrust bearing chamber and/or the motor positioned on the motor end of the suction chamber are not moved during the removal and replacement of the sealing assembly. This permits removal and replacement of the sealing assembly without necessitating the need for realigning the motor, thrust bearing chamber and other parts on the motor side of the suction chamber which alleviates the risk of vibration that might occur due to the removal and then improper realignment of the motor, bearings and/or other equipment on the motor side of the suction chamber.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2000Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: Wood Group ESP, Inc.Inventors: Neil Ferrier, Stephen M. Sakamoto
