  • Patent number: 10404709
Abstract: A security gateway module for an automotive vehicle is couplable in series between an OBD CAN bus and an internal CAN bus of the vehicle over which electronic devices of the vehicle communicate. The security gateway module checks CAN bus messages received on the OBD CAN bus, determines whether they should be passed to the internal CAN bus, passes those that it determines should be passed and does not pass those it determines should not be passed.

  • Publication number: 20090316673
Abstract: A system for enabling secure access to an in-vehicle gateway module includes a mobile wireless transceiver on the vehicle in communication with the gateway module, and at least one stationary wireless transceiver in communication with a home computer system, for example, as part of the vehicle owner's home network, or via an internet connection to the home network. The home computer system authenticates all data transfer to and from the vehicle gateway module while preferably also providing a “server” or information consolidation function.

  • Publication number: 20090048778
Abstract: Method for finding a vehicle (2), wherein a direction information item relating to the position of a mobile terminal (P2) with respect to the position (P1) of the vehicle is derived by comparing satellite supported position coordinates (P1, P2), and the respective direction information item is output by means of a display unit which is integrated into the mobile terminal (4), the geographic position (P1) of the vehicle (2) is stored in the mobile terminal (4) in the form of position coordinates when the vehicle (2) is deactivated, wherein if the mobile terminal (4) is in a second zone (Z2) surrounding a first zone (Z1), the current coordinates of the geographic position (P2) of the mobile terminal (4) are compared with the stored position (P1) of the vehicle, and if the mobile terminal (4) is in the first zone (Z1), the coordinates of the position (P1) of the vehicle are interrogated from the vehicle on an updated basis by means of a satellite supported position determining system, and this position (P1) of t

  • Patent number: 7242321
Abstract: A system for locating a vehicle includes a hand-held unit with data transceiver operation to generate a location request signal. The system also includes a location element in the vehicle, which is operative upon receipt of the location request signal to determine a location of the vehicle relative to the hand-held unit. The locator element in the vehicle sends an indication of the location to the vehicle. The data transceiver in the hand-held unit is further operative to receive the indication of the location of the vehicle and to send the indication to a location indicator. Upon receipt of the indication of the location, the location indicator alerts an operator of the hand-held unit.

  • Patent number: 5438513
Abstract: A system and method for testing an automotive electronic microcontroller includes a multi-chip module comprised of a microcontroller chip and at least one memory chip. This multi-chip module is packaged in the same connection configuration a production single chip microcontroller urgently designed for the controller. The multi-chip module, thus, replaces the single chip module on the controller board itself and provides extra memory. A PC work station may be connected to the controller board via a reserved 8-pin interface. Once development and/or testing is complete, the multi-chip module is then replaced with the single chip module.

  • Patent number: 4977532
Abstract: An industrial computer system comprising a video monitor, a plurality of computer cards, a pair of disk drive units, and power supply circuitry contained within a single cabinet. The computer cards, disk drives, and power supply circuitry are mounted in a drawer assembly that is readily removeable from the rear of the cabinet. Locator pins are affixed to the front end of the drawer assembly and are adapted to automatically engage a pair of holes located toward the front of the cabinet as the drawer is inserted into the cabinet. When inserted, the rear of the drawer assembly is bolted to the backpanel of the cabinet. Electrical connections between the components in the drawer assembly and the system are also made automatically as the drawer is inserted into the cabinet.
