  • Patent number: 11982139
Abstract: A passive spacer system may include a racking board comprising a slot and a spacer arranged along the slot such that a portion of the spacer impinges on the slot. The spacer may be biased in a neutral position and configured to move to a spacing position due to motion of tubulars into and out of the racking board, which interact with the portion of the spacer that impinges on the slot.

  • Patent number: 11814911
Abstract: A guide mechanism may include a first jaw and a second jaw pivotably coupled to the first jaw. The jaws may include a guide having a bottom pocket for seating arrangement on a box end of a first tubular and a top funnel for laterally guiding a pin end of a second tubular into the box end. The guide mechanism may also include a linkage system secured to the first and second jaws to control pivoting motion of the jaws. The guide mechanism may also include a bias mechanism coupled to the linkage system and configured to impart a biasing force on the jaws via the linkage system. The biasing force may be adapted to resist opening of the jaws such that opening of the jaws occurs when a lateral force is applied to the guide mechanism that overcomes the biasing force.

  • Patent number: 11307114
Abstract: A flaw detection system may include a dedicated monitor volume within a structural component of a system. The monitor volume may establish an air tight space bounded by at least one joint where the joint establishes a portion of a boundary of the air tight space and is in fluid communication with the air tight space. The system may also include a pressure sensing device configured for sensing the pressure in the dedicated monitor volume. A method of monitoring a system for flaw development may include monitoring a pressure sensor configured to sense the pressure in a dedicated monitor volume of a structural component of a system. The method may also include inspecting the structural component to identify a flaw location when the pressure sensor identifies a change in pressure in the dedicated monitor volume.

  • Publication number: 20150204324
Abstract: A rotary fluid pressure device includes a housing section defining an inlet port and a return port. A valving assembly is in fluid communication with the inlet port and the return port. A first fluid meter defines a plurality of volume chambers that are in fluid communication with the valving assembly. A second fluid meter defines a second plurality of volume chambers in selective fluid communication with the valving assembly. A drive assembly is engaged with the first fluid meter and the second fluid meter. The drive assembly has a drive shaft and a drive collar. The drive shaft has a first axial end portion engaged with the first fluid meter and an oppositely disposed second axial end portion, the drive collar is removably coupled to the second axial end portion of the drive shaft. The drive collar is engaged with the second fluid meter.

  • Publication number: 20110299802
Abstract: A thrust bearing allows a first structure to rotate relative to a second structure about an axis of rotation while supporting an axial load between the first structure and the second structure. In an embodiment, the thrust bearing comprises a first annular bearing race slidingly disposed in a first annular recess in the first structure. In addition, the thrust bearing comprises a second annular bearing race engaging the second structure. Further, the thrust bearing comprises a plurality of circumferentially spaced roller elements axially disposed between the first bearing race and the second bearing race. The roller elements contact the first bearing race and the second bearing race. The first bearing race and the first recess define a first annular fluid cavity axially positioned between the first bearing race and the first structure. The first bearing race rides on a fluid disposed in the first fluid cavity.

  • Patent number: 5469583
Abstract: A buckle device for temporarily fastening at least two straps together, the device having a base unit and an arm rotatably mounted on the base unit. The arm has a strap engagement part with a protuberance thereon, the arm being movable from a locked position to an open position, the arm in its locked position forcing the at least two straps into engagement with each other between the engagement part and the base unit. The arm is movable to an open position wherein the engagement part is rotated away from the straps so that the straps are free to move relative to each other and relative to the device.
