  • Patent number: 8907195
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing musical training is disclosed. The method/apparatus allows a user to practice voice lessons, ear training lessons, songs, and/or various musical instruments that rely on good pitch perception (such as a violin or a brass instrument). The method/apparatus displays a sequence of music notes to the user via a combination of conventional music staffs (such as a grand staff) and instances of a pitch-based representation. The method/apparatus also displays the accuracy of the user in hitting notes, the quality of his/her tone if supported, changes to his/her vocal range if desired, and tracks the user's practice history. The method/apparatus further provides features such as automatic vocal range detection, adjustment of lessons to a user's vocal range, and a display method that makes changes to the pitches of music notes clear during musical key/scale changes.

  • Publication number: 20080318556
Abstract: A system and method for lawful intercept of call content receives subscriber information as a lawful intercept target and issues commands to initiate bridge endpoints in a lawful intercept media router (LIR) for transmitting RTP data. The LIR receives the bridge endpoint commands and provides duplicates of RTP data packets associated with the subscriber transmitted through the endpoint for transmission to a delivery function.

  • Publication number: 20080220754
Abstract: A system and method for lawful intercept of call content incorporates a control element receiving subscriber information as a lawful intercept target and issuing a media forking command to a media transfer element transmitting RTP data. The media transfer element receives the media forking command and provides duplicates of RTP data packets associated with the subscriber transmitted through the media transfer element for transmission to a delivery function. The media forking command is an attribute in an SDP and includes definition of IP addresses for at least one delivery function. An acknowledgement of the forking command from the media transfer element to the control element is provided.

  • Publication number: 20080108351
Abstract: Methods for seamless transfer of media traffic for roaming mobile terminals during hard handoffs from one base station system to another are described. In one embodiment, a base station controller forwards media traffic after handoff occurs to a second base station controller where the mobile terminal is currently registered. The second base station controller listens for media traffic from the first base station controller on one port and for traffic from the remote equipment on a second port. When traffic starts to arrive on the second port, the first port is released.

  • Publication number: 20080107064
Abstract: A system and method for processing media control traffic between a mobile switching center and plurality of remotely located media devices is described. The media devices are infrastructure components of a wireless network. The media control traffic includes a satellite link in the path between the mobile switching center and the media devices. The system and method use a media access server which is adapted for receiving media control messages from the mobile switching center for the plurality of media devices via the satellite link. The media access server acts as single a point of contact for media control messages between the mobile switching center and the plurality of media devices. In another implementation the media access server acts a single point of contact between the mobile switching center and a plurality of remote media devices, but a satellite link is not present between the mobile switching center and the media access server.
