Abstract: A mobile portable system for a user to weigh an item on a mobile device, the mobile device having a computer processor and a display screen, and a weighing platform integral to the mobile device. The weighing platform may be integral to the display screen or may be a separate piece of hardware. A selector module is provided for allowing the user of the mobile device to choose the type of the item to be weighed. A weighing module is also provided for determining the weight of the item placed by the user on the weighing platform. A visual module in communication with the weighing module is provided to display the weight of the item to the user. The selector module, the weighing module, and the display module are executed by the computer processor of the mobile device.
