  • Patent number: 11061399
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system comprising at least one processor and a non-transitory processor-readable memory device storing instructions that when executed by the at least one processor causes the at least one processor to perform operations including to obtain sensor data of a vehicle operating in an autonomous mode, determine a confidence level for continued operation of the vehicle in the autonomous mode based on the obtained sensor data, and selectively trigger a handoff protocol based on the confidence level determined. Movement of the vehicle is autonomously controlled in the autonomous mode. The handoff protocol comprises providing information to at least one input/output (I/O) device inside the vehicle as an alert of an upcoming transition from operating the vehicle in the autonomous mode to a manual mode.

  • Patent number: 9396640
Abstract: In example embodiments, a system and method for tracking a child using RFID is provided. A first reader detects a signal from the trackable device. First positional data of the trackable device is determined from the signal. The first positional data indicates a first direction of the trackable device relative to the first reader. Second positional data is received from a second reader. The second positional data indicates a second direction of the trackable device relative to the second reader. A location of the trackable device is calculated using the first positional data and the second positional data. The location is presented on the first reader.
