  • Patent number: 7616959
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for antennas, wireless cells and networks are described. Antennas may use a shield to provide a shape of coverage, area of coverage, and channel assignment pattern configured for high throughput wireless cells and networks. Antenna combining devices may be used to form wireless cells configured for high throughput wireless cells and networks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 2008
Date of Patent: November 10, 2009
    Assignee: Rotani, Inc.
Inventors: John Spenik, Brian Woodbury, Roc Lastinger, Nicholas Funke
  • Patent number: 7599699
Abstract: A method, according to the various aspects of the present invention, is performed by a wireless cell for improving communication between the wireless cell and at least one wireless client, the wireless cell having at least two channels. The method includes, in any practical order, the wireless cell receiving a notice of the application executed by each one of at least a portion of the clients; the wireless cell measuring the transmission and reception performance between the wireless cell and each one of the clients for each channel; and the wireless cell selecting one of the channels in accordance with a prioritized list of applications.
