  • Patent number: 11990386
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a chip assembly comprises joining an in-process unit to a printed circuit board; reflowing a bonding material disposed between and electrically connecting the in-process unit with the printed circuit board, the bonding material having a first reflow temperature; and then joining a heat distribution device to the plurality of semiconductor chips using a thermal interface material (“TIM”) having a second reflow temperature that is lower than the first reflow temperature. The in-process unit further comprises a substrate having an active surface, a passive surface, and contacts exposed at the active surface; an interposer electrically connected to the substrate; a plurality of semiconductor chips overlying the substrate and electrically connected to the substrate through the interposer, and a stiffener overlying the substrate and having an aperture extending therethrough, the plurality of semiconductor chips being positioned within the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20070214750
Abstract: Articulated dunnage having at least two corner support portions joined along a hinge. The dunnage is movable between an open orientation and a folded configuration. The dunnage may be formed in the open configuration so that the dunnage is biased in the open orientation by the shape memory of the polymeric material. The dunnage is configured to be fitted around a portion of the article and to extend between adjacent corners of the container when in the folded configuration. The present invention also provides a method for packaging using articulating dunnage including the general steps of (a) placing the dunnage in the open configuration on the container over the opening, (b) moving the article into engagement with the dunnage, and (c) inserting the article and dunnage into the container through the opening, the action of inserting the article and dunnage into the container causing the dunnage to move from the open configuration to the closed configuration.

  • Patent number: 7243815
Abstract: A container is formed in a blank having two body halves interconnected by a hinge. The container body is at least partially clear to allow inspection of an article held in the interior. The container optionally includes an integrally formed carrying handle. Empty containers are nested to minimize shipping space. Each container optionally includes stack-stabilizing structure so that plural containers may be stacked into stable stacks, and any selected container may be easily removed from the stack. The inventive container protects articles held therein during shipping and storage, and displays the articles both before and after sale.
