  • Publication number: 20240159330
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20240011810
Abstract: A metering system uses an electronics assembly with a single transducer to determine flow rate. The meter assembly emits an ultrasonic beam from the transducer and splits the ultrasonic beam into a first partial beam and a second partial beam. The first partial beam is transmitted over a first path that returns to the electronics assembly, and the second partial beam is transmitted over a second path that returns to the electronics assembly. The first path goes over a first net distance of a measuring channel. The second path goes over a second net distance of the measuring channel. The meter assembly detects the return of the first partial beam and the second partial beam, measures a time difference between the return times, and determines a measurement of a fluid flow through the measuring channel based on the time difference.

  • Publication number: 20220252265
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining operating discrepancy a process heater. The discrepancy may be identified by solving a fired-systems model of the heater. The fired-systems model is then compared to current operating data. If the sensed current operating data is outside of the expected value(s), as defined by the fired-systems model, the systems and methods may take a remediation action to resolve the discrepancy. The discrepancy may include convection fouling identification and identification of tramp-air leaks within the process heater that are otherwise not easily detected by a human operator.

  • Publication number: 20190323359
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a double walled section of an aerofoil (701) of a gas turbine engine (10), the method comprising: forming a plurality of columns (402) on an outer surface of a first structure; forming a plurality of columns (402) on a surface of each of a plurality of parts of a second structure; and forming a double walled section of an aerofoil (701) by attaching the ends of columns (402) on each part of the second structure to the ends of columns (402) on the first structure such that the first structure is an inner wall (401) of the section of the aerofoil (701) and the second structure is an outer wall (501) of the section of the aerofoil (701).

  • Publication number: 20170241082
Abstract: Railway rails are welded in situ by induction welding with an insert (3) between the ends of the rails (1) being welded. The insert (3) compensates, at least in part, for the loss of rail length that occurs in the welding process. Preferably the ends of the rails are pushed apart (e.g. by the length of rail consumed in the welding process) before the insert (3) is placed in position, thereby allowing a longer insert to be used. Induction heating may be performed with a split head (5) that can be opened so as to be placed around a rail in situ and then closed to carry out induction heating.

  • Publication number: 20110049195
Abstract: A dispensing closure assembly for a drink container. The assembly has an occludable nozzle able to close a dispensing path way when the nozzle is in one condition relative to an occlusion providing member of the assembly, and to open a dispensing pathway when the nozzle is in a second condition relative to the occlusion providing member. The nozzle is movable from the raised non occluded open and dispensing condition to the lowered occluded non-dispensing closed condition against a bias. The nozzle is releasably latchable in the closed condition. The release involves a rotation of one part of the assembly relative to another to allow axial movement of the nozzle.
