  • Patent number: 11900350
Abstract: A brick-and-mortar (BAM) store control system uses sensors and wireless transceivers to track customers, merchant representatives, devices, and/or objects within a BAM store area. The system can identify and track product and/or service inventory within the BAM store area and/or in individual's personal inventories, for instance by detecting movements of objects by individuals in sensor data. The system can generate inventory replenishment schedules, for instance based on inventory quantity patterns. The system can provide recommendations to customers and/or merchants, for example recommending products that customers have interacted with. The system can identify individuals and/or objects using a machine learning algorithm, which can learn based on feedback. The system can generate temporary identifiers for unrecognized individuals or objects, which it can merge or convert into long-term identifiers as more information is received.

  • Patent number: 11665817
Abstract: A point of sale (POS) device includes tamper detection circuitry in which one or more flexible members that each include multiple side-by-side conductive traces connect two circuit boards, optionally so that one circuit board must remain very close to the other if the device remains in a secure un-tampered-with state. Severance of a trace of the flexible member, or disconnection of the flexible member from either circuit board, may result in unexpected voltage sensor readings indicative of a tamper attempt.

  • Patent number: 11663368
Abstract: A point of sale (POS) device includes a flexible member with two exposed conductive areas that are part of a tamper detection circuit. While a recess receives a screw, the screw passes through apertures in the flexible member and in a conductive gasket, and the conductive gasket connects the two exposed conductive areas to one another, closing the tamper detection circuit. Adhesives affix the flexible member to the screw and the conductive gasket to the recess opening so that removing the screw from the recess separates the conductive gasket from the two exposed conductive areas, opening the tamper detection circuit.

  • Patent number: 10959015
Abstract: An earpiece in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present technology includes a housing and a speaker within the housing. The earpiece also includes an antenna at least partially embedded within a wall of the housing. The wall includes a window portion and an opaque portion extending around the window portion. The antenna is visible from outside the housing via the window portion. The window portion includes a transparent filler within an elongate groove in the wall. The antenna includes a radiating element within the groove, and feeding and shorting pins extending through respective openings between the groove to an interior of the housing. Making the earpiece can include disposing filler material over the radiating element, increasing a hardness of the filler material, and abrading an outer surface of the wall at the filler material to form a smooth surface.

  • Publication number: 20210051387
Abstract: An earpiece in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present technology includes a housing and a speaker within the housing. The earpiece can also include an earbud and a protrusion carried by the housing. The earbud can extend from the housing toward a canal of a user's ear when the earpiece is mounted to the user's ear. The protrusion can be at least partially received within a recess at least partially defined by a cymba concha of the user's ear and by an anterior ridge of an antihelix of the user's ear when the earpiece is mounted to the user's ear. The protrusion can include resilient members and intervening slots. The individual resilient members can be configured to preferentially bend relative to the housing in a direction parallel to an adjacent length of the anterior ridge when the earpiece is mounted to the user's ear.
