Patent number: 9393914Abstract: One disclosed aspect of the embodiments is an apparatus to hold a mobile device in a vehicle. A sleeve is stretchable to fit longitudinally along a sun visor of a vehicle and having front and back surfaces. The front surface has a vent structure. A first strap is transversely attached on the front surface at a first side of the vent structure to hold a first end of a first device. A second strap is transversely attached on the front surface at a second side of the vent structure to adjustably hold a second end of the first device. The second side is opposite to the first side across the vent structure.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Inventors: Son Nam Doan, Nick Ngoc Nguyen

Patent number: 6986736Abstract: A method detects proper connection of fixtures to one or more channels in an endoscope during a cleaning or disinfection procedure. The endoscope has a first opening into one of its channels. The method includes the steps of placing the endoscope at the first opening in a liquid while leaving a gas within the channel, drawing a vacuum on the gas through a second opening into the channel and thereby drawing some of the liquid into the channel, and detecting for air leaking into the channel.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2002Date of Patent: January 17, 2006Assignee: Advanced Sterilization ProductsInventors: Hal Williams, Nick Ngoc Nguyen, Cindy L. Ellis

Publication number: 20040118437Abstract: A method detects proper flow through one or more channels in an endoscope during a cleaning procedure. A supply line connects to one of the channels, the supply line being in fluid communication with a fluid supply vessel. Fluid is flowed from the supply vessel through the channel for a time period. The amount of fluid is calculated based upon a volume change in the supply vessel and the flow rate calculated based upon the amount of fluid and the time period. If the flow rate varies by more than a predetermined amount from a predetermined value an indication of improper flow is given.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2002Publication date: June 24, 2004Inventor: Nick Ngoc Nguyen

Patent number: 6530399Abstract: A system and a method for delivering and metering a fixed volume of liquid, such as a liquid sterilant from a container into a vaporization system. The method for the delivering system includes the steps of sensing a requirement for additional liquid sterilant, determining whether the liquid sterilant to be added is acceptable for use, and delivering the liquid sterilant from a container into an accumulator. The method of metering the liquid sterilant into the vaporization system includes creating a vacuum in a chamber connected to the vaporizer and delivering the liquid sterilant into a vaporizer while continually sensing the flow of the delivery. The metering system maintains a slow, controlled flow in order to achieve efficient vaporization of the liquid sterilant and to provide accurate sensing of the gas/liquid interface.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2001Date of Patent: March 11, 2003Assignee: Ethicon, Inc.Inventors: Nick Ngoc Nguyen, Ross G. Krogh

Patent number: 6412340Abstract: A cassette sensing mechanism and a method for detecting the unevenness of a surface by detecting the difference between two paths on the surface. The mechanism contains two pawls connected to a connector at one end. The second end of one pawl contacts a portion of one path on the surface, and the second end of the other pawl contacts a portion of the other path on the surface. One path is smooth, and the other path contains grooves. A sensor on one pawl senses the relative position of the other pawl. The unevenness of the surface can be detected by monitoring the relative positions of the two pawls as the two pawls travel along the two paths. The sensing mechanism may be used for monitoring the position on a cassette in a sterilization system.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Ethicon, Inc.Inventors: Nick Ngoc Nguyen, Doug Truong, Hal Williams
