Patent number: 11989839Abstract: A method including executing a logical computing element (LCE) on a server. Worker LCEs are executed on the server. A first electronic file comprising geometry data in a first data structure is received at the controller LCE. An available worker LCE is identified, by the controller LCE, as an in-use worker LCE from among the worker LCEs. The geometry data is imported by the in-use worker LCE. A job instance is established by the in-use worker LCE. A rendering engine is launched by the in-use worker LCE. The rendering engine generates, for the job instance and using the geometry data, a dataset file in a second data structure different than the first data structure. The dataset file is returned by the in-use worker LCE to the controller LCE. The dataset file is returned by the controller LCE to a remote computer.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2021Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Patrick William O'Neill, Mark Gordon Sellars, Michael Joseph Surface, Nick S. Patent number: 11936558Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for evaluation of networks and changes thereto using automated analysis of network models. The automated analysis can be used to determine how to implement and mutate networks efficiently and effectively, to determine whether and why network resources are unable to communicate with each other, and the like. Automated analysis can allow users (e.g., network administrators) to define networks and pose changes to networks using high-level policies (e.g., written in a declarative language), have those polices automatically translated to lower-level implementation operations for analysis, and in some cases have results of the analysis presented back to the users in an easy-to-understand form.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Baihu Qian, Bashuman Deb, Justin Lin Hsieh, Daniel William Dacosta, Nick Matthews, Anoop Dawani, Omer Hashmi, Thomas Nguyen Spendley, Viktor Heorhiadi

Patent number: 9394929Abstract: In order to avoid cavitation in a boom cylinder head end at the beginning of a dig cycle, fluid from an alternate source is supplied to the head end before or in addition to fluid supplied by the main boom-up hydraulic circuit. In one embodiment, an electronic hydraulic valve, related sensors, and control system determines the beginning of a dig operation and uses fluid at an intermediate pressure to rapidly provide fluid to a boom head end cylinder to prevent voiding or cavitation before fluid under high pressure from the main pump can be brought to the cylinder. An on/off fluid switch is activated early in a dig operation to address low pressure at the boom cylinder head end and provide an alternate path for fluid into the cylinder in reaction to the boom being lifted by a motion of the stick and bucket in contact with the work surface.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2013Date of Patent: July 19, 2016Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Keith Edward Lawrence, John James Krone, Nick William Biggs, Karl Arthur Kirsch, Yuya Kanenawa, Tetsuya Yoshino, Magomed Gabibulayev

Publication number: 20160045373Abstract: An ear protection system may include an ear plug and a storage container. The ear plug may include an elastic component and an inelastic component. The ear plug may be heated, for instance, by filling the storage container with water, at least partially submerging the ear plug in the water filled container, and microwaving the container and the ear plug. The elastic component may then become compressible in order to form to the anatomy of the user's ear. A plurality of indentations may be provided on the elastic component to facilitate the compression. The ear plug may also accommodate electronic features, such as a speaker, as well as a lanyard for holding the ear plugs.
