  • Publication number: 20240138647
Abstract: A cleaning article defining an XY plane and a Z direction perpendicular to the plane. The cleaning article has discrete tufts of tow fibers disposed on a carrier sheet. The discrete tufts have bond lines external to the tufts. • Publication number: 20240115102
Abstract: A cleaning wipe including a first nonwoven having a plurality of first nonwoven strips, a second nonwoven having a plurality of second nonwoven strips, a third nonwoven having a plurality of third nonwoven strips, and a fourth nonwoven having a plurality of fourth nonwoven strips. The cleaning wipe includes a central bonded portion and the fourth nonwoven is further joined to the third nonwoven by a pair of outboard bonds. • Patent number: 11950737
Abstract: A cleaning article. The cleaning article has tufts of tow fibers. At least some of the tufts are unequally spaced from adjacent tufts, to provide improved collection and retention of debris from a target surface. The tufts may be disposed in rows, which are unequally spaced from adjacent rows. The cleaning article may be made by cutting out spaces between tufts from a precursor sheet and attaching the precursor sheet to a carrier sheet. The cleaning article may be made by cutting a precursor sheet having tufts into discrete portions. The discrete portions are bonded to a carrier sheet.

  • Publication number: 20240081603
Abstract: A cleaning article. The cleaning article has a laminate construction. The cleaning article comprises a sheet and a hydrophilic gather strip element joined together at an elongate bond. The gather strip element has plural layers folded upon one another, providing strips extending outwardly from the bond. The folded layers provide a construction which allows the strips to advantageously present a dynamically changing area to the target surface during cleaning, under normal usage conditions. By changing the surface area, more liquids, and associated debris, can be cleaned from the target surface.

  • Patent number: 11701681
Abstract: A device and method for applying a material to a hard surface. The device has a sensor and one or more applicator nozzles. The device further includes a reservoir for containing a material to be deposited, and a CPU. The method includes providing information from the sensor about the surface to the CPU, which uses the information to identify where the material is to be deposited and/or how much to deposit.

  • Patent number: 11622663
Abstract: A nonwoven sheet, having a first outwardly facing surface and a second outwardly facing surface. Wax is disposed in a wax pattern on the first surface; and oil is disposed in an oil pattern on the second surface. The oil pattern is not coincident the wax pattern so that wax blocks the oil from permeating through to the first surface. The first surface may be textured with peaks and valleys, having wax disposed on the peaks. This arrangement keeps the oil from contacting the target surface and leaving residue, while allowing the oil to collect and retain debris. The sheet may be executed as a dry sheet for cleaning surfaces such as floors or as a duster.

  • Publication number: 20220273153
Abstract: A cleaning article defining an XY plane and a Z direction perpendicular to the plane. The cleaning article has discrete tufts of tow fibers bonded to a carrier sheet by primary bonds. The discrete tufts have secondary bond lines external to the tufts. The secondary bond lines interrupt the Z-direction thickness of the tufts, to provide channels for improved collection and retention of debris from a target surface. The tufts are created by slits between the primary bonds and secondary bonds, which yield plural tuft sizes. The slits may be transversely unequally spaced between adjacent bonds.

Abstract: A cleaning article. The cleaning article has discrete tufts of tow fibers. The discrete tufts are unequally spaced from adjacent tufts, to provide improved collection and retention of debris from a target surface. The tufts may have a pitch, the pitch decreasing as the longitudinal axis of the cleaning article is approached. The cleaning article may be made by cutting out spaces between tufts from a precursor sheet and attaching the precursor sheet to a carrier sheet. Or the cleaning article may be made by cutting a precursor sheet having tufts into discrete portions. These discrete portions are bonded to a carrier sheet.
